A passionate yachtsman and water sport enthusiast, Wim van der Valk founded the company that bears his name in 1967 and remains the driving force behind it today. Since its inception, Van der Valk has built a rich heritage in both steel and aluminium motor yachts. The success of the first cabin and aft-cabin design cruisers measuring from seven to ten metres quickly attracted widespread acclaim from the yachting public.

Today, Van der Valk’s production facilities in Waalwijk (NL) produce only a select number of bespoke yachts every year. This ensures unrivalled quality and exclusivity for individual owners. Only after intensive sea trials and quality control procedures can boats leave the yard for delivery to their new owners.

The Explorer 30m is a contemporary go anywhere yacht for transatlantic passages and tough weather. Whatever the conditions, the rugged yet elegant long range design by Guido de Groot can be trusted to perform as well as it looks. 

Her styling manages to be classic, timeless yet quite distinctive, while offering a fresh and innovative take on the explorer look. Van der Valk have taken care at all stages of engineering to ensure the best possible sailing and seakeeping qualities for this design.

The Explorer 30m is built to endure the toughest weather conditions, and is specifically designed with a large fuel capacity, enabling this vessel to make transatlantic passages. 

While functionality usually takes priority over sleek looks on most explorer-type motoryachts, designer Guido de Groot has ensured a luxury feel is also present. She has the facilities of a superyacht, with the impressive beach club, hydraulic transom platform, full-beam master suite forward, four guest cabins and plenty of space for crew. Styling-wise, this is still clearly an Explorer yacht with negative windows in the wheelhouse, while the angled bow adds length and elegance. 

As you would expect from a boat designed for taking the whole family, or groups of close friends, on exciting adventures at sea, there is a considerable amount of interior volume available, including exceptionally high ceilings. The raised pilothouse design remains inviting inside and out, whilst a safe and comfortable journey is assured in all weather conditions.

This yacht is built in a fast displacement version with an aluminium hull and superstructure. This yacht is also available in any size between 65-132 ft (20-40m).
