Available New for summer 2020 delivery, the DS20 is a fine example of the range of custom fishing boats produced by this renowned Cornish Boat Builder, her hull design is the culmination of over 40 years of experience building reliable, seaworthy craft for the commercial fishing industry. Combining these rugged design characteristics with the finest craftsmanship and carpentry as well as being constructed to Sea Fish Authority standard, these versatile boats are equally at home earning their keep commercially as they are as weekend dayboats, club launches or small cabin cruisers. The custom fit out options allow each individual boat to be specified to suit her intended occupation tailored to her owner's requirements. From the robust commercial standard fit out to the Penberth Model sporting classic joinery throughout, these boats are all built with ultimate seaworthiness and longevity in mind.
The Treeve DS20 has a unique hull design featuring clean forward entry and a pronounced knuckle giving a concave scoop to the bow. This combines with a generous sheer line enables the Treeve DS20 to be driven into head-seas and still retain a dry interior.
The DS20 has a deep enough draught and ample freeboard to master with ease sea conditions and tidal races while straight keel and bilge keel flats ensure manoeuvrability and allow it to be launched from beaches and coves.
The full hull of the DS20 can be driven with a conventional arrangement of inboard engine and stern gear, or an outboard motor mounted in an enclosed transom well.
Designed by Denis Swire C.Eng FRINA the Treeve DS20 is without doubt a unique and enormously successful concept of an easily driven, multi-purpose rugged workboat with exceptional sea-worthiness and economy of operation.
The DS20 is available as an open boat or four cabin options are available:-
The Treeve DS20 is fitted with our standard heavy duty keel irons made from 3/8" plate and 1/4" lugs. Timber keels for beach launching may be added. There is ample room forward of the inboard diesel engine to fit a hydraulic pump and equipment. The deck may be self draining or loose board depending on preference. The steerings may be either underhung steel semi balanced or traditional transom hung timber rudders.
11oz laminate made up as follows:-
1 gel coat, pigmented throughout or clear below watering as preferred
1 x 1oz CSM and 5 x 2oz CSM
Transom reinforced: Lay-up 2 x 2oz CSM
Sheerline reinforced: Lay-up 2 x 2oz CSM
Keel joint reinforced 1 x 1oz CSM and 5 x 2oz CSM
Transverse frames and longitudinals 3" x 2" polyurethane expanded foam encapsulated by 3 layers x 2oz CSM, staggered timber inserts on sheerline
Beam shelf as above according to customer's own requirements
