The owner of the 61S Performance loved the modern retro design look and feel of the Steel Long Range cruiser line, but also wanted to travel from his home in the Netherlands to the Norwegian archipelago of Spitsbergen in not much more than 100 hours net sailing time. So a Performance hull was desired ! Underneath the elegant timeless form of an S-design hull is hidden an underwater hull capable of accelerating to a top speed of 20 knots. Equally impressive is the fact that the fuel consumption per nautical mile is virtually flat from cruising speed to maximum speed. Because the yacht will regularly spend time close to the Arctic, the 61S is extremely well insulated, as are our other vessels.
