Introduced in 2012 as Cobia's flagship model, the 296 Center Console is a competitively priced fishing platform whose level Deck layout provides secure footing from bow to stern. Recessed bow rails extend back to the Helm area, and the Cobia's high freeboard results in an unusually deep and secure Cockpit for a boat this size. Also notable is the roomy step down Head Compartment of the 296 where an electric head, two opening ports, and sink are standard. Split forward seating is a plus, making it easy to get around the bow. Both Helm seats have drop down bolsters and the dash has plenty of room for two large multi-function displays, and VHF radio. Fishing features include two 28-gallon live wells, a pair of 80-gallon in deck fish boxes, Leaning Post with tackle storage, and under gunwale rod storage. A fold out transom seat, Cockpit coaming pads, trim tabs, fresh water & raw water washdown, and pull up cleats are standard. The deluxe hardtop features outriggers, overhead electronics box, and three rod holders on each aft support legs.
