1. CONSTRUCTION

HULL NUMBER
Oyster 82/15.

HULL CONSTRUCTION
Laid-up GRP, single skin with structural stringers and floors to Lloyd’s approved design specification.
Outer hull laminate in Vinylester resin.

HULL FINISH
Painted Awlgrip ‘Flag Blue’ hull with cove line and double boot top lines in ‘Medium Silver’. Full respray (2022).
Soft blasting treatment and complete hull bottom treatment involving application of new epoxy primer and antifouling coating. Epoxy primer ‘Interprime 450’, ‘Interprime 820’ on keel metal, full coat of ‘Tie Coat’, 2 coats of antifouling ‘Micron 99’ and 3rd coat of antifouling ‘Micron 99’ on waterline and leading edges (2022).

DECK CONSTRUCTION
Moulded in GRP with balsa core.

STERN DESIGN
‘Sugar scoop’ stern design with bathing platform trimmed with laid teak. This area includes a fold down stainless steel bathing ladder with oval treads, which is fitted with a positive retaining pin for stowage.
A hot and cold freshwater shower is located in the step locker within the transom.
A gateway through the pushpit gives access to a built-in stairway with three teak covered steps leading down to the bathing platform.

EURCD
Built to comply with the requirements for Category A – Ocean.

CHARTER CODING
Built to MCA Category 2 with all associated safety equipment fitted.
MECAL certification valid until September 2022.

2. DECK LAYOUT AND EQUIPMENT

ANCHOR
66kg (140lb) CQR anchor stows in the stemhead fitting with 100m of 14mm galvanized chain - chain replaced (2019).
30kg (66lb) Kedge anchor with 12mm chain and 100m of 14mm rope with hard eye in one end.
Fortress Stoway kedge anchor.

CANVASWORK
Fold-down companionway sprayhood in Sunbrella Plus, colour ‘Flanelle’ (grey) with clear windows in Stratglass 3, leather covered stainless steel grabrail to aft end and Wichard padeyes into aft ends of sprayhood troughs - new (2022).
Bimini in two sections, one over helmsman and one over main cockpit. Both stowable in recess at companionway, in Sunbrella Plus, colour ‘Flanelle’ (grey) - new (2022).
Cockpit table covers in Sunbrella canvas, colour ‘Oyster 5030’ (beige) with lift up flaps for access to fridges.
Pedestal and steering wheel covers in Sunbrella canvas, colour ‘Oyster 5030’ (beige).

DECK PLUMBING
A hot and cold freshwater deck shower located in transom locker.
Groco saltwater combined fire/deck wash located under soleboards in forward port cabin/sail locker with outlet in halyard locker.
Freshwater deck wash with second Groco freshwater pump located on the bow.
Second freshwater deck wash located in the cockpit.

COCKPIT
Walk-through teak-laid cockpit split into two areas.
The forward guest cockpit at over 3m long, giving excellent access from the companionway to the aft area helm/steering positions and side decks. Featuring a cockpit table with seating all around.
A pair of waterproof loud speakers are mounted on the aft faces of the forward cockpit seats.
A pair of stainless steel mug holders are mounted at the forward end of the cockpit.
The helm position has twin custom GRP steering pedestals with stainless steel grab rails and stainless steel mug holders to each, incorporating all the controls and instruments.
Additional EAO switches are fitted along outboard edges of both pedestals for easier headsail furler control.
Both cockpit sections have sufficient self-drainage.
Stowage lockers below the cockpit and helm seat lids, held secure with locking catches with the lids of which are held upright by gas struts.

COCKPIT TABLE
The cockpit features two tables, both of which are have varnished teak-tops, mounted on an insulated GRP box with strong stainless steel frame. These feature grab rails and folding leaves with additional lift-up teak leaves on inboard faces to allow all round seating.
One table is fitted out with a 24v, keel-cooled refrigerator unit and evaporator plate. Refrigeration serviced (2022).
The port cockpit table is mounted on moveable runners to enable it to slide adjacent to the starboard cockpit table, creating a custom sun lounging area and extended walk through to port.
Additional sunbathing infill cushions, including ferrules, stainless steel support legs and cushions extend this area further.

STEERING
Whitlock Mamba rod and gearbox system, installed with remote pedestals, each of which incorporates a 1.20m diameter destroyer type stainless steel wheel, friction brake, and three bearing pedestal steering unit.

GENERAL

The pulpit incorporating port and starboard navigation lights.
The pushpit incorporating quarter pushpit seats in teak and stainless steel, with a lift up gate at passarelle entrance and at entrance to transom bathing platform. Liferaft storage is incorporated into the pushpit, port and starboard.

Pair of gateway stanchions, fitted with stainless steel hinging ladders with oval treads, for boarding from dingy or dock. When in the up position, these ladders form the side decks. Stainless steel tread plates form at each side gateway.

3. MAST AND RIGGING

MAST AND RIGGING
Cutter rig.
Formula Spars hydraulic alloy in-mast furling mainsail.
Conventional staysail and running back stays.
Gybe preventer lines rigged on boom mounts, attach to an additional sheet that feeds through the spare spinnaker pole downhaul blocks back to the cockpit.
Navtec hydraulic vang and hydraulic backstay tensioners with mechanical lock-off.
5 x Additional blocks are mounted at the mast base to lead halyards to winches.
No-strike ion dissipaters at masthead. 
Standing rig inspection (2015). New spinlock jammers (2017).
Mast unstepped, with all fittings cleaned, inspected, NDT tested and metal hardware polished. Full standing rigging works, including replacement of various top and bottom fittings, rod rigging as required and kevlar runners (2021).

Genoa - furling genoa Radial laminate ZZ ultra 575 (177.7m2) with furling patch, E-Flex, around clew leechline, reefing marks, soft clew and acrylic UV cover - new (2022).

4. INTERIOR

GENERAL
Ten berths in five cabins, excluding the saloon, plus additional pullman berth in aft port cabin, pipecot berths in the aft port and starboard cabins, and a baby berth infill in the owner’s stateroom. All berths have Dacron lee screens fitted with lanyards to eye mounting points. Double berths have split mattresses allowing for a central lee-cloth.
Interior joinery finished in maple.
Cabin sole in walnut planked boards.
Companionway revarnished (2017).
Designed to be modern and coordinated, whilst remaining practical and durable at sea. Essential features include sculpted fiddles and grabrails, ‘shadow-gap’ joints between panels and flush Oyster custom knobs for lockers and drawers.
Upholstered and padded panels for headboards and berth sides, where appropriate.
Headlining in ‘Grey Mist’ vinyl.
Mast cover in padded cover, colour ‘Cream’.
John Lewis Bon Bon ‘Brioche’ carpets with non-slip backing to all three aft cabins and aft passageway.

9 x berth fans which connect to headlining sockets.

FORWARD SAIL LOCKER
Accessed via a watertight door from the starboard forward head or via the overhead hatch. Fold-down step assist access from above. Featuring sail stowage to port with leecloths, cupboards to starboard and access to the bow thruster unit beneath.

PORT FORWARD TWIN CABIN
Twin berths with ample storage space adjacent to and beneath bunk.
Mirror.

SHARED EN SUITE HEAD/SHOWER
Shared with both forward cabins and accessed via the forward port twin or the utility area. Fitted with washbasin, shower, Sealand Quietflush toilet and ample storage.
Electric towel rail.

STARBOARD FORWARD DOUBLE CABIN
Accessed via the utility area and featuring a double berth - berth has been customised to allow for additional storage drawers beneath.
Hanging locker and ample storage.

UTILITY AREA
Accessed via the galley or starboard forward double cabin, port forward twin cabin or the shared en suite head/shower.

WASHER/DRYER
Miele washing machine and seperate tumble dryer.
Shelf with removeable fiddles over washing machine for stowage.

GALLEY
Accessed via the utility area or the lower saloon. Features a sliding door at the aft end of the galley with a smoked perspex panel to allow privacy when required.
Various customised storage options have been added, including a slide out basket locker forward of the cooker, plastic stowage boxes under soleboards, fiddle under cooker, knife block and dedicated spice rack.
A large rubbish bin with Avonite lift-out lid is fitted seemlessly in to the work surface and a fold-down seat is located on the forward bulkhead.

Dedicated tap for drinking water with Aqua filter charcoal filter.

Gimballed Force 10 cooker in stainless steel with 4 burners, grill and oven. Features a electric ignition system for all functions, protected by a flame failure gas cut-off device.
Alpes Inox cooker hood with light and extractor fan, blanking panels are available for the galley fan extractor (MCA compliance).

MICROWAVE
Smeg combination oven.

REFRIGERATOR
Front-opening stainless steel refrigerator with twin evaporator plate systems and automatic door light.
Additonal refrigeration unit located in one cockpit table. Refrigeration serviced (2022).
Both boxes are independently controlled and can be separately run.

FREEZER
Custom stainless steel freezer box with evaporator plate system, twin compressors, twin plates and Frigoboat 24 volt water pumps.

DISHWASHER
Miele dishwasher with maple fascia.

COFFEE MACHINE
Slide out Impressa J9 coffee machine at aft end of galley.

SALOON
Upper saloon features a large square shaped settee to port with expandable ‘birds eye’ maple table to provide comfortable seating for six.
Two sets of steps lead down from here to the lower level, one aft to the central passageway beneath the cockpit, one forward into the lower saloon area.
To starboard at the forward lower level is a lower saloon with small table.
The lower saloon table matches the upper saloon in style and has a adjustable pedestal base that can be used for dining or as a footstool and removable padded top.
Inboard is an entertainment area with television mounted into angled panel.
To port opposite the mast is a bar area with lockers hosting custom storage, drinks fridge and icemaker.

DRINKS FRIDGE
Custom Frigoboat stainless steel fridge.

ICE MAKER
U-line icemaker with 24v DC to 220v AC inverter.

CHART TABLE/NAVIGATION AREA
To starboard of the saloon is the navigation station with chart table and custom seat.
There is provision for the stowage of half-folded Admiralty charts, navigational books and almanacs, etc.
The chart table area is customised around the electronics and navigational equipment, which are flush-mounted.
Additional Barometer and external temperature sensor are mounted adjacent to the chart table.
An oilskin locker is located aft.

ENGINE ROOM
Accessed via the aft passageway.
Features custom stainless steel stowage for tool boxes, charging shelf for battery-powered hand tools and canvas stowages for tools.
Engine room extraction - New (Mar 2019).

PORT AFT TWIN GUEST CABIN
Twin cabin, with pullman and ladder inboard and pipecot outboard.
Features ample stowage, including a tall hanging locker.

Custom features include a removable seat, trotter box at the aft end of seat with cushioned base and removable baby bunk to port with fiddle arrangement.
Additional soundproofing has been added under all soleboards, over forward bulkhead and hull.
A lightweight ladder with varnished treads allows deck access.
4-brick combination keypad safe.

EN SUITE HEAD/SHOWER
Fitted with washbasin, shower, Sealand Vacuflush toilet and Jeeves electric towel rail.
Custom stowage includes a plastic bin fitted on back of door to locker under sink, locker with mirror door and perspex shelf with fiddle, and plastic box with dividers fitted to the bottom of the locker.

6. ENGINEERING

ENGINE
Single Cummins Turbo-charged QSB5.9-305 MCD diesel engine (S/N 2188138) of 227kW (305Hp) at 2600rpm is fitted. The gearbox is a Twin Disc MG 5075A, which gives a reduction of 2.88:1 and incorporates a 7-degree down angle.
Upgraded Racor to duplex 75/900 Max fuel filters.
Jabsco electric oil change pump with a manifold and 4 takeoffs, one from each generator, one from the engine and one from the gearbox, with raw water flow alarm on intakes for both. Engine alarm repeater at chart table.
Dry exhaust elbow and turbo - new (2017/18).
Main engine turbo air filter and wet hoses - new (July 2019).
Gearbox - refurbished (Oct 2019).
Engine - fully serviced (2022).

ENGINE HOURS
Approximately 3,300 at March 2022.

PROPELLER
4-bladed 813mm (32”) diameter Brunton Varifold folding propeller is connected to the engine via a 63mm diameter stainless steel propeller shaft, through a stainless steel custom fabricated P-bracket and stern gland fitted with a remote greaser.
Stern gland repacked. P bracket cleaned, stripped and serviced (2017).
Propeller - serviced (2019).
Propspeed coating applied on propeller, shaft and p-bracket (2022).
Drive train serviced, including propeller service, replacement of cutlass bearing, shaft check, shaft seal and thrust bearing (aquadrive) checked (2022).

ROPE CUTTER
Ambassador Marine rope cutter on propeller shaft. Rope cutter - replaced (2022).

ALTERNATORS
Mastervolt 24v/150 Amp with Alpha Pro regulator.
Spare alternator belts fitted to avoid having to remove PTO in event of belt failure.

GENERATOR
2 x Onan 22.5kW MDKBT generators (50Hz, 220v) with control panel at the AC panel. Second generator has higher capacity than standard specification.
Generator start/stop at port pedestal for one generator with a warning light.
Switch mounted on underside of pedestal to prevent accidental starting.
Amp meter and voltmeter for generator output monitoring.
Lovejoy coupling - new (2017).
Both generators serviced, with port generator fuel prime pump, oil cooler and seawater pump replaced (2022).

GENERATOR HOURS
Starboard Generator: Approximately 5,450 at March 2022.
Port Generator: Approximately 4,740 at March 2022.

BOW THRUSTER
A 300 Lewmar vertical retract (28Hp), retractable, hydraulic bow thruster, driven off the generator PTO shaft.

STEERING SYSTEM
Whitlock Mamba rod and gearbox system.
Steering inspected and serviced (2017).

HYDRAULICS
Lewmar 400 Commander system to operate mainsail furling, headsail, staysail and windlass. Upgraded with extra functions for in-mast furling rig.
When combined with Lewmar generator PTO shaft it enables the windlass and thruster to be run at the same time, albeit each with reduced power. All sail functions can run off the PTO in an emergency.
Powerpack oil and filter changed (2016).
Mast hydraulics - new pump and hoses (2019).
Hydraulic servicing, including Holmatro pump and mastjack service, valve block services, hoses replaced and windlass repairs (2022).

AIR CONDITIONING/HEATING
Cruisair Stowaway 80,000 BTU reverse cycle heating and air conditioning system with remote air handlers.
Compressors fitted in the engine room and air handlers under berths:
Aft cabin: 1 x 16,000 BTU unit.
Aft port cabin: 1 x 10,000 BTU unit.
Aft starboard cabin: 1 x 10,000 BTU unit.
Upper, lower saloon and galley: 2 x 16000 BTU units.
Forward starboard cabin and port cabin: 1 x 12000 BTU unit.

ICE MAKER
U-Line icemaker under worktop in lower saloon with dedicated 24v DC to 220v AC inverter.

WATERMAKER
Seafresh H2016 watermaker (276 ltrs/hr).
A remote control panel is fitted with remote pressure gauge, pressure valve and product flow meter, so unit can be started and controlled from one location.
This unit is able to discharge into port, starboard or both tanks at once.
Watermaker serviced (2022).

7. TANKAGE AND PLUMBING

FUEL
3,200 litres approximately (704 imp gallons/845 US gallons) in two GRP tanks.

WATER
2,100 litres approximately (484 gallons/581 US gallons) in two GRP tanks.

TANK TENDER GAUGES
Tank Tender contents gauge (using a dual read-out gauge with the fuel tanks) located at the electrical panel.

HOT WATER
From two insulated 93 litres approximately (20 imp gallons/24 US gallons) tanks heated by the engine’s heat exchanger, or by thermostatically-controlled 220v, 2kw immersion heater elements powered by the generator or dockside power. Each tank is fitted with a thermostatic safety blender valve.

PRESSURISED HOT AND COLD WATER SYSTEM
Freshwater system upgraded to include a second twin coil calorifier serving aft end of boat only. (Single pump and no changeover valves, etc.).
All hot water pipes are lagged.
Second Groco freshwater pump with pressure relief valve, allows emergency feed to entire pump as run from either pump.
Calpeda AC powered high capacity freshwater pump and outlet in halyard locker.

220v AC ring main with 10 double, 13 Amp, double sockets throughout with combined single UK socket and single Australian socket located as appropriate within the layout.
Units are from the Vimar “Idea” Range with black chrome “Classica” surrounds.

OTHER ELECTRICAL SOCKETS
12 x additional sockets throughout with combined single UK socket and single Australian socket in a double Vimar bezel.
3 x double watertight sockets on the forward bulkhead in the lazarette, aft bulkhead in the engine room on the port side and aft bulkhead in the fo’c’sle on starboard side behind the door.

BATTERIES
24 x 2v Enersys Powersafe service batteries for domestic supply - new (Feb 2019).
Power from a separate 88 Amp hour 12v generator starting battery.
Buffer bank of 12v gel batteries to run electronics and computers, charged with 24v DC to 12v DC converters off the main 24v bank. Fitted with separate monitoring and dropper failure lights.
2 x 120amp hr Mastervolt gel batteries navigation batteries - new (April 2017).
All batteries are positively secured against inversion in the case of a knockdown.
All battery stowage areas are vented to the exterior of the vessel.

BATTERY MANAGEMENT
2 x 100 Amp Mastervolt chargers with one having variable intake control on panel.
Additional 24v, 100 Amp Mastervolt charger, Provides 300 Amps of charging off generator only.
