Construction

Vinylester sandwich construction vacuum laminated with multiaxial glass fabric, core material is 20 mm divinycell, solid laminate around keel, rudder and through hull fittings. Hull and deck are white with dark blue waterline in NPG-based gelcoat. Open transom with bathing platform.

 

Structural Bulkheads,

Marine plywood, some faced with African Kahya Mahogany, securely tape bonded to hull and deck.

 

Steel Floor Girder

Made of hot galvanized steel steel girder frame system. The frame takes up the loads from hull and rig.

 

Keel and rudder

Lead bulb bolted on to a fin of cast iron, epoxy treated and faired to a smooth finish. The keel is bolted to hull and steel frame with epoxy sealant and 10X 20 mm stainless steel bolts. Rudder blade hand laminated multiaxial glass. Rudder stock 78 mm aluminium tapered at both ends, self aligning needle bearings. Rudder is equipped with Joffa bearing system for ease of handling.

 

Deck equipment

Genoa sheet winches Harken 44 SF Halyard winches 2 x Harken 40, 2 x 1, 5 m Genoa tracks. Mainsheet track with ball bearing car - 12 halyard stoppers and 2 organizers. 4 mooring cleats. Pulpit with navigation light. Double pushpit with flagpole holder and stern navlight. Double s/s lifelines, s/s boarding ladder.

 

Mast and rig

Mast in silver anodised aluminium profile 211/110 mm, stepped on the keel. The mast is fitted with two spreaders, steaming light and is prepared for spinnaker equipment. 1x19-ply stainless steel wire standing rigging. Stainless steel chain plates, bolted to stiffeners at the hull sides. Boom in silver anodised aluminium profile 171/94 mm with internal outhaul and single line reefing system. Rod kick led to cockpit.

 

Engine

Yanmar 3 YM20/SD20 fresh water-cooled marine diesel. Power output at propeller, 20 hp. Instrument panel with rev. counter. Control display for low oil pressure, high engine temperature and charging. Audible warning for oil pressure and water temperature.

YanmarSD20. sail-drive with 2-bladed folding propeller. The engine is easily accessible for service. All hull inlets are fitted with seacocks. All hose clips are in stainless steel.

 

Electrical system

1 x 12 V 70 amp. hr domestic lighting battery, 14 V a.c. 80 amp. Alternator.

12 V 70 amp hr engine battery. Well-dimensioned electrical cables. The cables are to a large extent run in conduits. Main switch panel with circuit breakers. Water and fuel meter, voltmeter/ampmeter. Two main switches, 1 x 12 V power socket.

 

Steering

Integrated steering pedestal in GRP, white, with stainless steel wheel Æ 140 cm.  Stainless steel chain and wire cable to a large quadrant. Wheel shaft with adjustable friction brake.  Emergency steering on rudderpost.

 

Cockpit and equipment

Spacious cockpit. Spacious cockpit lockers. Manual type bilge pump, sprayhood which folds down in recess at companionway.

 

Interior

High standard handcrafted interior in selected and unstained African Kahya Mahogany, varnished to a satin finish. Interior lined inAfrican Kahya Mahogany. Flooring of varnished teak and wholly removable hatches for the bilge, seacocks etc. Headliner of white vinyl covered plastic foam with mahogany strips. Curtains to all portholes. All cushions in high quality furnishing fabric. Cupboards and doors properly framed and panelled in mahogany with profile edges.

 

Forward Cabin

Large  cabin separated from the main salon by privacy door.. Very comfortable full size double berfth with hanging lockers and storage lockers, shelving on port and starboard.

 

Saloon

Spacious and light saloon with full headroom, 6’ 02”. L- shaped settee to port side, length 6’05”, settee to starboard, length 6’05”. Behind back rests large storage space.  Reading lamps. Bookshelves and cupboards. Ceiling lights. Large table with drop leaf and bottle locker.

 

Navigation area

Large navigation area. Chart table with storage under. Drawers, chart lamp, ample space for electronic equipment.

 

Galley

Centrally positioned L-shaped galley, allowing free passage between the cockpit and saloon. Stainless steel twin sinks. Gimballed twin burner gas stove with oven. Gas pipes with stop valve and leakage indicator between stove and gas bottle. Large working areas in easily cleaned and durable laminate. Well-insulated refrigerator. Storage compartment for provisions. Cupboards for plates, cups and glasses. Bottom cupboard for utensils. Waste basket under sink. Drawers for cutlery. Cutting board. Lights over working areas.

 

 

 

 

One aft cabin.

One large cabin separated from the main saloon by privacy door. Large Hanging Locker, wide full-size double berth. Reading lamps, 2 opening portholes.

Large toilet compartment with full headroom and shower facilities. Large recessed washbasin. Sea toilet with holding tank (70 l). Electrical freshwater pump. Mirror, large cupboard, ceiling light. Shower water evacuation pump. Wardrobe for wet clothes.

 

Fittings

Internationally approved navigation lights.

Folding spray hood with cower when folded down in recess.

4 portholes in coach roof, 1 porthole in cockpit. All portholes in 6 mm acrylic glass in aluminium frames. Illuminated compass mounted on the instrument console over the companionway. Manual bilge pump. Stainless steel transom mounted bathing ladder.

4 x 10 m mooring lines, 6 x 8” fenders. 1 x anchor line 40 m.

1 x 15 kg anchor.

2 x fire extinguisher, I fire blanket, 1 x gas bottle.

Forward cabin:         1 deck hatch
