Sunreef Yachts has carved out a solid reputation for producing quality sailing catamarans, with over 40 now delivered and sailing in a variety of locations around the globe.

Since receiving a commission from world-renowned Swiss sailor, Laurent Bourgnon, the yard has also moved into producing luxury power catamarans. Bourgnon’s requirement was for a vessel suitable to take his young family on an around-the-world odyssey.

The combination of gentle, neutral finishes captures an understated, modern feel in harmony with the ocean, uniting chic with unsurpassed luxury and comfort. Throughout the interior, the contemporary decor creates the feel of a spacious apartment The accommodation layout includes two master cabins forward on bridge deck with queen-size beds, large ensuites with dual vanities and generous storage spaces. The midships has two guest cabins with double beds and ensuite. And port side aft double cabin with ensuite.

The galley is well equipped with full-size kitchen appliances and has been designed with the epicurean in mind, offering a spacious and functional area for whipping up culinary delights worthy of a home dining table.

The large saloon is ideal for entertaining and a fully integrated, stereo system pipes music throughout the boat to create an ambience to match any occasion or mood.

The full-beam flybridge is equally well-appointed and spacious, boasting a jacuzzi, diving platform, wet bar, barbecue area, and sunbathing lounges. But the skipper is well catered for and not to be excluded from spending time with friends where the full array of equipment is cleanly laid out.

The Sunreef design gets it right for luxury and convenience, but how does she perform when put through her paces? Powered by twin Caterpillar 873 horsepower engines capable of reaching a top speed of 25 knots within seconds, maximum pleasure with minimum effort is the underlying philosophy with this new model. What defines the ride is just how smooth it is. Combine that with the boat’s excellent stability and abundant horsepower and this is certainly a wolf wrapped in sheep’s clothing, equally comfortable in the open ocean as inshore. Even powering along at 25 knots in 40 knots of breeze the most you can expect is a few drops of water on the fly deck’s windshield, and not a drop of champagne would ever be spilt.

Cruising speed is between 12 to 14 knots (1300-1500rpm) using 80 lph total. The dual tanks hold a total capacity of 16,000 litres and the big cat has a fast cruise of 20.5 knots at 1800 rpm and comfortably climbs to a steady speed of 25 knots at 2250 rpm,
