Orkka is a beautiful Beneteau 473 Oceanis Clipper built in 2005, with long teak decks and a tall mast, she was designed by legendary naval architect firm Group Finot, and built at the historic Beneteau factory in France. Orkka has had only two owners, both have cared for her deeply and never chartered. Her first owners sailed almost exclusively on daysails in Croatia. Her current owners sought a family adventure and decided to buy a Beneteau 473, sail her across the Mediterranean and Atlantic Oceans home to the United States. That journey is now complete with Orkka docked safely in Ft. Lauderdale awaiting her next adventure.
Comfort on long passages is paramount to keeping a rested and alert crew. The owner has taken every effort to achieve maximum comfort on board Orkka. With three separate air conditioners and a large water maker by Osmosea, a Kohler-Lombardini generator you can create all the water and power that you need. With fresh showers and comfortable temperatures even the longest passages will seem short.
Orkka has the performance mast made by Zspar, more than three feet taller than other Beneteau 473s, and her keel is about six inches deeper making her ride a little smoother, and a little faster than the competition.
The current owners replaced all of her halyards and lines before departing the Med, and purchased:
