The Hunter 36 exemplifies livability. A spacious v-berth sits all the way forward with generous storage and an opening hatch overhead for plenty of natural light and fresh air. Just aft, a welcoming u-shape settee rests to starboard and a linear settee sits opposite, doubling as an aft-facing nav bench. The dinette table drops down, converting to a double berth for overnight guests.
The aft section of the main cabin is comprised of an L-shape galley to starboard and a navigation bench and head compartment to port. The galley is well-executed with good storage outboard, double stainless sink with hot/cold pressure water, 2-burner propane stove w/ oven, front-loading refrigerator/freezer, and a durable Corian countertop. The nav bench is simple, yet functional and houses all of the boat's electrical distribution.
The head compartment on the Hunter 36 is an ever-popular feature, housing a separate stall shower, stainless sink, mirror, good lighting, opening hatches/portlights, a newer electric head, and a wet locker.
The owner's cabin on the Hunter 36 feels spacious and airy, compared to traditional aft-cabin sloop layouts. The berth runs athwartships with plenty of head room and ample natural light and ventilation. A spacious hanging locker and shelving surrounding the berth offer plenty of storage for personal belongings. Good access to the stuffing box, transmission, and rear of the engine is achieved via removable panels.
