CONSTRUCTION

RCD Status:

•    Our understanding is that the vessel is constructed to comply with CE Boat Category A-ocean

Hull Construction:

•    The hull is constructed in carbon fibre with epoxy resins using vacuum bagging laminating technique. 

•    Corecell foam core with local reinforcement of in Aramid and glass.

•    All skins laid up in one bagging of all plies, with the last fibre ply being followed by a peel ply.

•    Laminates post cured at 50 degrees C for 12 hours. 

•    Woven and biax laps are be 50mm.

•    Structural bulkheads in Corecell foam with carbon laminate panels, prefabricated on a laminating table, under vacuum. 

•    Bulkheads laminated to the hull with visible surfaces teak faced. Thin teak veneer applied by

•    vacuum bagging. 

•    Bulkhead and tapping laminates post cured at 50 degree Celsius for 12 hours.

•    Chain plates in FRP, V-strap type using Kevlar and Epoxy.

•    Topsides repainted in white Awlgrip - 2022

•    New composite toe rail with integrated lines - 2022

Deck & Superstructure Construction:

•    The deck is constructed primarily of carbon fibre and epoxy resin (Ampreg 22), and Corecell core within a female mould.

•    Fibre orientation and number of plies varying over the deck. 

•    The laminates are vacuum bagged to achieve the best possible strength and resin ratios. 

•    The inside and outside skins are reinforced in way of deck gear with C- plates.

•    One foam and Carbon deck beam each side under Genoa tracks.

•    High-density core used under the runner tangs, winches, at the mast partners, and the upper rudder bearing.

•    Compression tubes are inserted, where necessary, in way of bolts under all deck hardware.

•    New 14mm Teak laid deck – 2022

•    Teak over whole cabin top, including bridge deck and surfaces underneath sprayhood.

•    Other deck areas and coaming painted white Awlgrip – 2022

•    Teak toerail with integrated lines

Keel & Rudder:

•    3.00m draft bulbed fin keel with ballast totally 4,083kgs

•    Keel fin in stainless steel. 

•    Keel bulb cast in 4 - 6 % antimony lead.

•    Stainless steel mounting bolts.

•    The rudder stock is laminated in carbon reinforced laminate.

•    The rudder blade is also laminated in carbon reinforced laminates with a foam core.

•    Self-aligning JP3-type bearings for upper and lower bearings.

MACHINERY

Engine & gearbox:

•    Volvo Penta D2-55 4-cylinder naturally aspirated diesel engine producing 55hp @ 3,000rpm

•    Fresh water engine cooling via raw water intake and heat exchanger

•    Volvo SD sail drive with ZF Hurth Marine gearbox

•    Single lever throttle and gearbox control.

•    Engine located on FRP laminated beds

Maintenance & Performance:

•    Engine hours– 402 as of Summer 2025

•    Cruising speed – approx. 7.5 knots @ 2.300 rpm

•    Maximum speed – approx. 8.5 knots @ 3,.000 rpm

•    Fuel consumption at cruising speed – approx. 4 litres per hour

•    Range at cruising speed – approx. 280Nm

Propulsion & Steering:

•    Gori 3-bladed folding propeller

•    Twin custom helm pedestals

•    Alloy steering wheels

•    JP3 steering quadrant with 10mm Vectran cable connection to both wheels

Voltage systems:

•    3x 24vDC Mastervolt Lithium batteries joined in parallel – 2022

PLUMBING & GAS SYSTEMS

Fresh Water:

•    24vDC pressurized water pump for supplying fresh water 

•    Hot water supply via engine calorifier and 220vAC immersion heater element in 60 litres hot water tank heated by shorepower

Watermaker:

•    Spectra 24vDC reverse osmosis watermaker producing approx. 90 litres per hour. MPC 3000 not used since 2016.

Bilge Pumps:

•    Automatic electric bilge pump with manual overrides at chart table 

•    Manual bilge pumps 

Black & Grey Water:

•    Forward heads discharges to sea. Aft heads discharges to holding tank or to sea via diverter valve.

•    Shower water and waste from hand washbasins drains into sump under floorboards at each head. Pumps out with electrical pump.

•    Galley wastewater drains direct overboard with a pump.

Gas System:

•    Manual valves at tank and galley.

Fuel:

•    Total fuel capacity approx. 135 litres in 1x stainless steel tank

•    Fuel tank level gauge.

Fresh Water:

•    Total water capacity approx. 310 litres in 155 litre stainless steel tank on port and a 155  litre stainless steel tank on starboard.

•    Water tank level gauge.

Holding Tanks:

•    50 litres black water holding tanks servicing aft heads.

•    TankWatch 4 holding tank level monitoring system

•    Tank empties to sea via a electric pump or via deck extraction.
