Fabulously, this boat is fitted with a 2019, effectively new Mercury Command Thrust 115hp four-stroke engine, with two years of transferable warranty remaining. The engine was serviced recently and has a smart branded outboard cover to protect it both when in use and at rest.
The engine is Mercury Command Thrust model. Mercury Marine, the manufacturer states that their CT models provide:
Key points
What is Command Thrust?
Mercury Command Thrust is a range of Mercury outboards that have been introduced with larger gear cases, longer props, and larger gear ratios. This results in more lift, better acceleration, improved handling and added durability. Superb power to weight relationship means vastly better fuel economy without sacrificing performance.
The 115HP is the largest flagship model of the Mercury CT range of outboards.
Larger gear case
Delivering more for less, the larger gears and gear case are designed to handle more thrust. Side-by-side with the standard models, the Command Thrust’s propeller sits lower in the water, essentially also acting as a bigger rudder that provides more leverage to control the boat.
Wider propeller diameter
The propeller on Command Thrust models has 20% more surface area than the standard propellers.
Benefits of Command Thrust models
More lift:
Heavy or fully loaded boats can be more easily lifted out of the water with the extra thrust of a wider propeller, helping you get on the plane faster.
Plane at lower speeds:
Once you’re on the plane, the Command Thrust models can also keep you on the plane at lower speeds. Being on the plane means more of the boat is out of the water and the boat has less drag, which means better fuel economy and cost savings for you.
Better acceleration:
More surface area on the propeller provides more thrust and better acceleration. Plus, when combined with Mercury’s premium propeller range, you have a combination that puts you ahead of the pack.
Holds better in rough water:
With what is effectively a deeper rudder in the water, the Command Thrust models give you more leverage to control the boat and more authority in any condition.
(information gleaned from Mercury website)
The Mercury Command Thrust 115hp engine is fitted is equipped with a three blade 21 pitch stainless steel ‘ENERTIA’ (sic) performance propeller. Mercury state these larger propellers are faster, stronger and more responsive.
The hull is a deep vee (24 degree deadrise at the transom) giving it the capability to handle rougher seas. It is also reported to give a quieter ride when underway. The hull has never been anti-fouled and is without blemish.
The console is slightly offset to allow forward/aft movement. The console has a lightly tinted perspex wrap-around screen with a stainless steel tubular handhold surrounding the screen and also running vertically down the front/centre of the screen.
It has a locker door to provide access to storage and a recessed extinguisher holder. The dashboard supports the stainless steel steering wheel and throttle lever. Engine instruments (fuel level, rev. counter and voltmeter gauge) are mounted in the dashboard. The Garmin GPS chart-plotter, Hummingbird fish-finder and Standard Horizon Eclipse are mounted on the dashboard also.
After releasing two over-centre catches the whole console can be tipped forward to access large storage area beneath. The tilting action is also of use if one needs to lower the overall height of the boat for access to storage etc.
Driver and co-driver are provided with a twin bolster seat which is well-positioned and gives security and support. The rear of the bolster seat has four stainless rod-holders and ample tubular stainless steel handholds. The Igloo cooler can also be moved forward from it's transom stow point and strapped in underneath the bolster seat.
The boat features a three person bench seat with storage lockers beneath as well as a large size Igloo 54 (51 litre) cooler purpose fitted. The bench seat has stainless steel grab handles to the front and sides. A two piece backrest can be removed if required. There are drinks holders mounted in the fibreglass coaming aside each outer seat.
The boat is equipped well with:
The Zodiac 650 Pro is 6.5m long inflated, 4.95m plus engine deflated, 2.5m outer beam inflated with tubes inflated, 1.35m inner beam deflated (will fit into garages).
Console folds forward to approximate level of tubes to allow for storage in places with lower headroom.
Weight is 670kg without engine, 830kg with engine. Easy to tow, manoeuvre, launch & retrieve, even solo.
120 litre underfloor tank providing excellent range.
The Zodiac 650 Pro is fitted with a tube braced stainless-steel ski pole for pulling skiers or inflatable watercraft. This can be stored under the tilting console when not required.
Forward there is a full width fill-in sundeck in cream upholstery. When not required this can be taken down and stored within the tilting console storage area.
Luxurious & grippy underfoot, Seadeck synthetic teak deck is fitted throughout the boat.
Forwards, there is an anchor locker which also provides a seat. For security surrounding the pulpit is a stainless pulpit rail. At the bow there is a reinforced bow fitting with bow roller. Navigation lights are fitted to the pulpit rail.
The Zodiac is fitted with a robust three-level rubbing strake to provide the boat with tough protection when alongside pontoons or other boats. The boat is also equipped with curved RIB fenders to protect the boat further.
When at her berth at Emsworth the Zodiac sits atop a floating Tetradock keeping the boat out of the water when at rest negating the need for anti-foul and keeping her away from the harmful effects of seawater. The Tetradock and berth are available under separate negotiation.
