Introduction

The Nordic Tugs “Hercules,” a “Millennial Edition” Nordic Tugs 42/44 Pilot House trawler was built during the prime construction years for Nordic Tugs and other builders, when volumes were relatively high and the market was vibrant. The later years after the 2001 “9/11” and the August 2008 financial contractions were plagued by slow growth, several years of very poor sales and many prominent boat builders suffering from a lack of sales volumes. “Hercules” was built during the peak production years prior to 2001 when Nordic Tugs was building its finest boats since the Company was founded in 1981. Because of slow production since 2001, it is difficult to find many new vintage Nordic Tugs on the market today, especially those over 40 feet, because the Company halted construction on larger models to focus on its mainstream 39/40 model. Looking for a 2008 to 2022 Nordic Tugs 42/44? You won’t find one!

Enter “Hercules, who’s owners have kept her in exceptional condition, especially her full teak interior, which has been unavailable in any Nordic Tugs model since 2013. It is difficult to find one of the quality, care and love that “Hercules” has received from her owners. With a price geared to sell rapidly by owners who are moving away from their Fort Lauderdale home, this is a unique opportunity. If you have ever dreamt of owning one of the premier 42/44 models of Nordic Tugs for an amazing price and in top condition, then waste no more time and give us a call to arrange a visit.

Patented Hull Design

Nordic Tugs are known for their seaworthiness, comfort, stability, and efficiency. These traits are due to her unique hull design. The Company has been designing hulls since 1980, and they have refined semi-displacement hulls that are fast and fuel efficient. This has resulted in an incredible hull that provides a quiet, comfortable ride. With a single diesel engine, Nordic Tugs gives you the fuel economy of a displacement hull, with speeds far greater than a displacement hull can achieve.

Nordic Hull Characteristics:

A fine-entry bow provides a quiet dry ride in adverse weather conditions.

Her full keel improves tracking and reduces drift when maneuvering.

Hard chines reduce roll, increase efficiency, and add to the inherently stable ride.

The molded mid guard adds strength to an already solid hull.

A flared hull helps keep the boat dry.

A heavy-duty stainless-steel shoe protects the propeller and rudder.

A round reverse transom adds strength and helps shed water in a heavy following sea.

Pilothouse

The Nordic Tugs 42/44 pilothouse features comfortable lounge areas, full 360-degree views and direct access to the decks from both sides of the vessel. Broker Comments

Having been a Nordic Tugs dealer for many years gave the Luke Brown team an opportunity to be involved in the construction, commissioning and customer warranty support for each model in Nordic Tugs’ product line. Recognizing that no boat is perfect and there is always room for improvement, the firm chose to expand its brokerage business to become a dealer for the brand and, though no longer a dealer, remains, today, a vocal and present spokesperson for the brand’s high quality.

The Nordic Tugs 42 which was reintroduced as the Nordic Tugs 44 in 2016 is the most sought-after model for the brand. “Hercules” has a full teak interior in lieu of the presently offered African Sapele, no coring in the hull, combined with foam coring in the decks (no balsa wood), along with the finest hand layout fiberglass production, an extremely reliable Cummins 6BTA5.9m- She is built for a serious mariner.

3 6 Cylinder Turbo Engine with only 2,919 hours, and a “Northern Lights” 12 kw, diesel Serial # 8432-22205C with 2,542 engine hours provides a vessel that can be reborn to exceed the standards of today's model.

“Hercules” represents a unique opportunity to purchase an iconic trawler, built by one of North Americas finest boat builders. She is in turnkey condition and extremely well maintained by her experienced owners.
