|Model||Custom Joubert Motorsailor|
|Offered By||FREEDOM MARINE - Freedom Marine Yacht Sales|
This was previously Michel Joubert's personal Expedition Motorsailor, a boat designed specifically for high-latitude exploring. Built by the French Meta yard, known for their quality welded aluminum vessels constructed using the Strongall technique, this vessel is built to be strong, efficient, and reliable, while also providing warm and pleasant quarters for exploring distant shores.
This is a very well-executed exploration vessel, designed and previously owned by the late naval architect Michel Joubert. It is a function-first vessel with a surprisingly comfortable interior, featuring two separate cabins and sleeping berths for 8-10 people.
Notable features of this boat include thick-skinned (Strongall) aluminum construction, twin diesel power with protected/encased drive shafts, a pleasant, bright, and spacious pilothouse, salon, and quarters, incredible amounts of storage, a twin keel design that is self-standing, a complete Refleks hydronic heating system, and long-range fuel tanks.
If you are in the market for a high-latitude exploration vessel, or if you just want a bulletproof coastal cruiser, this could be the boat for you. This vessel is very comfortable and well-suited for year-round cruising, and it will tempt you to go further on your adventures
Upon entering the vessel from the cockpit doors you will come into a bright spacious saloon with opposing settees that can function as single berths. Forward you will find the Galley and Dining area that can accommodate many around the table. Forward is the Port and Starboard Pilothouse doors and the Helm, with a quality seat. From here there is a stairway that leads down and forward to the main accommodations. Immediately to Port you will find a spacious shower and vanity. Further forward you will be in an open space that leads to the cabins, heads and is fitted with single bunks to Port. To Starboard you will come across the master cabin with double berths and a bright spacious head with vanity, toilet & holding tank. Note that both the head and separate shower spaces are well insulated and sealed with fibreglass, bright and pleasant. Forward is the fore peak that is a separate cabin with a lower V-Berth and two upper Single Bunks. All accommodation spaces have opening hatches and ports for light and ventilation. Pleasant spaces throughout.
All interior spaces are insulated with rigid 60mil Polyethylene Foam to keep the boat dry and warm.

Electrical & Mechanical:
The engines are located midships below the pilothouse, they are reasonably accessed and the installation looks very well done. The lids and engine room ceiling have thick sound deadening insulation to keep things quiet in the house. The engines are freshwater cooled and use heat e changers cooled with raw water. The drive system is very robust with a unique enclosed shaft design that provides great protection. Both engines are fitted with belt driven water pumps that can be used for pumping bilge water in an emergency.
The vessel is fitted with a 12/24 Volt DC System and a 220V AC system. There are a few 220AC receptacles and appliances that will work on this system. There is a good quality 3000 watt inverter that will convert 24V DC to the 220V AC.
House Battery Bank is Four 4D Batteries 345AH at 24Volts
Starting Battery Bank is Two 4D Batteries 115AH at 24Volts
