Outstanding example of this great cruising design. Almost There has just returned from two seasons of cruising in the Bahamas and as a result she is equipped and updated to go again with everything you'll need including genset, solar, full enclosure, davits, air conditioning, bow thruster, water maker, and many custom features that make this boat a standout. If you want a boat that is cruise-ready, this is it.
Prior to 2021 Almost There spent many years on the Great Lakes where she was lightly used and continually updated. She was stored indoors every winter from 2004 - 2020. You will not likely find another Irwin 43 like this one.
Almost There has an ideal cruising layout with two private staterooms, two heads (both with showers), a roomy main saloon (featuring leather upholstery imported from Scotland), fantastic galley and a large nav station. The center cockpit design offers a huge aft stateroom with center island queen, vanity station and ensuite head. There is abundant storage throughout.
Light and ventilation are provided by 15 opening stainless-steel ports with screens by Newfound Metals (2007), 6 tinted tempered glass fixed ports, 7 opening Lewmar Ocean Series hatches with sun covers and screens (2007).
For comfort, Almost There includes two reverse cycle heat/AC units by Flagship Marine (2018). The forward unit is 16,000 BTU and the aft is 9,000 BTU.
All headliners were replaced in 2018.
The Forward Stateroom features a large V-berth with filler and 8" foam cushions. Overhead shelving runs for fore and aft both port & starboard. There is a seat to starboard with 3 storage lockers behind. Additional storage is available in six lockers under the V-berth as well as a hanging locker forward to starboard. There is private access to the forward head on the port side. Air and light provided by two opening ports and a large overhead hatch.
The Forward Head features an electric toilet, holding tank, vanity, locker storage, and a separate shower stall with a dedicated sump and overboard pump. Air & light provided by an opening port and overhead hatch. A second door provides direct access to the Main Saloon.
The Main Saloon features an L-shaped settee to port that doubles as a single berth and a settee to starboard. The seat cushions are imported leather over thick custom foam. There is a custom drop-leaf dining table that can seat six. Storage space is available behind and beneath the settees as well as a storage locker forward to starboard. Just aft of the port settee is an end table with a built-in liquor locker. Just forward of the settee is a large LCD TV. The headliner was replaced in 20067 and all overhead lighting was replaced at that time. The galley is located aft to starboard and the walkthrough/nav station is aft to port.
The Galley is located at the base of the companionway to starboard, featuring custom corian countertops, a large sink, 3-burner LPG stove w/ oven, a microwave oven, a full-size refrigerator/freezer (2021) as well as a separate ice box/freezer with SeaFrost refrigeration. In addition to the H/C pressure water there is a salt water foot pump. There is ample locker & drawer storage throughout including a spice rack.
The Nav Station and Walk Through features a large counter surface and includes the AC & DC switch panels behind, and abundant storage beneath. The Walk Through provides excellent access to the engine compartment located under the companionway.
The Aft Stateroom is large, light, airy and very comfortable with a queen sized centerline berth that has access on both sides. There are shelves, drawers, and lockers both port and starboard of the berth, as well as several opening ports and two overhead hatches for light and ventilation. Just forward of the berth is a vanity station with a large mirror and swing-out seat. There is a large hanging locker to port. The ensuite head is forward of the berth to starboard.
The Aft Head features a manual toilet w/ holding tank, vanity w/ corian sink & countertop, and a dedicated shower stall with sump. Two opening ports provide light and ventilation.
