The Bayliner 38, offered in various models, is considered to be one of the most popular designs offered ever in this size and there are plenty of them around the country. Sought after for her unique interior layout and large back deck, this boat offers so much for weekending to doing the great loop or as a cabin on the water. Two private cabins, one forward and the other across from the galley on the port side. Both have huge double berths with hanging lockers, drawers and shelves. The forward master head is contained within the forward cabin. A teak door closes off the forward cabin from the rest of the boat. Just aft of the forward cabin is the shower on the port side, including bathtub and sump pump. It is a complete stall with total privacy and stand up headroom. This area can also be accessed from the guest head which has access to the guest cabin or the main salon. Across from the guest cabin is a large, full galley with a stand up refrigerator/freezer, double SS sink with good counter space and a deep, large bin for dry storage. Beneath the sink are doors with shelves inside and to the right of the sink, there is more storage for pots and pans. Drawers hold galley utensils and there’s a cupboard at the back of the counter for more storage. The stove and oven is gimbaled and fueled by propane. Beneath there is another pan storage and above the stove is a microwave and another storage bin. An electric exhaust vent and light is above the stove. The main salon is huge with a large u-shaped seating area which flanks a large table with one leaf. This can be lowered to accommodate more sleeping area for a total of 6. Across is the inside helm and navigation instrumentation. Aft on the starboard side is a wet bar with sink and counter space and liquor storage beneath. The sliding door to the back deck is mounted midships. The back deck is quite large. There are lift up hatches to gain access to the twin diesel inboards and diesel genset. Also, inside the cabin there is another big access hatch over the starboard inboard. Outside, on the deck, on the port side, is a door which opens to the engine room that you can literally walk in to. Access to the inboards is very convenient. There are steps port and starboard to climb out of the boat or walk to the forward deck where you will find the anchor roller, anchor locker and anchor windlass. The foredeck is huge and great for hanging out or sunbathing. Back in the aft deck, there is a door on the starboard side that lets you walk to the attached swim platform, which also is large and has a fold down SS swim ladder. This boat has dinghy davits attached to the swim platform. A SS/teak step ladder gets you to the fly bridge and the topside helm with full seating and bimini. There’s a great 360 view. Stand up in this boat is great everywhere. Well over 6’. Cross ventilation is good with main salon side windows that open, many opening ports in the cabins and shower and heads with deck hatches above each head and in the forward cabin. The windows/windshield are big and provide a great 360 view from inside the boat. Shades windshield covers and curtains keep the hot sun out and there also is air conditioning. This boat is in good condition and is well maintained. It has been in the water for the past several years used regularly by the owners who have now decided to move on after owning the boat for 12 years to other adventures, which also include grand children & elderly parents needing assistance. They are the 4th owners. The boat has always been in fresh water. Engines reported to run very well and receive regular maintenance. 10 MPH at Cruising speed of 2000 RPM’s. Cruising fuel consumption is 8 MPG. Range 400 miles. Top speed at 2800 RPM’s is 15 MPH w/fuel consumption at 12 GPH. Range 280 miles.
