The San Juan 34 was built by Clark Boat Co. from 1980-1988. Approximately 50 vessels were commissioned in that time and Kukana is hull #49.
The San Juan 34 has a fixed fin keel with a skeg-hung rudder and 5'11'' of draft.
The Clark Boat Co. boat the molds to build the San Juan 34 from Clagan Marine who owned the molds from 1975 to 1979. During that time they built approximately 30 vessels and the model was then known as the Crown 34.
In 1979 for a very limited time the Glassfab Boatbuilders built 5 vessels with the molds known as the Sun 1030.
All three versions were active in the Pacific Northwest PHRF racing scene at the time. The vessel has a PHRF rating of 126 and is a swift boat, comfortable enough for cruising, that also fares well in handicap races.
