Description
Kasamaru is an all steel Goderich 35 built by Huromic Metal Industries in Goderich Ontario. They are characterized with smooth, not hard, chines. Designed by Ted Brewer they have an excellent reputation for blue water cruising. This one has a custom pilothouse with inside steering. The underbody is typical of Brewer full keel designs with the "brewer bite" & cutaway forefoot. Powered by an 85 HP diesel, updated equipment includes Evolution Main & jib, staysail & cruising spinnaker. The raised bulwarks on these designs provide excellent footing & safety while moving around on the deck. Excellent deck drainage from cutouts in the bulwarks. The exterior finish is in good shape & the bottom has been epoxied. All interior steel below the water line has been foamed.
This vessel was donated to Brigs last year. Brigs is a Youth Sail Training operation based in Hamilton, Ontario. The sale of the vessel will help Brigs continue their fine work.
