1980 Southern Cross 319m

This 1981 Southern Cross "Liberte" is a heavy displacement, double ender bluewater boat with a full keel. These boats were built solid so that they would withstand heavy weather conditions.  The current owner purchased in 2014 with the intent to do a solo circumnavigation.  He has had lots of adventures with her on the bay while getting her ready but due to other obligations, she will need a new owner to continue on with her circumnav journey.  

The bottom has been stripped and barrier coated, the hull, thru hulls and rudder mounting plates have been faired where needed.  Installed was a Capehorn wind vane steering system, Wind generator, and a new semiflexible solar panel on top of the dodger.  She will need some updated running rigging and a piece of caprail on the forward port side.  

This boat moves strikingly and  loves the open water.  A great boat for someone that is wanting to sail away on a small budget.
