The much admired Sparkman & Stephens SHE36 "Sherpa" is regrettably for sale. She has proved herself to be a quick and delightful boat to handle and takes heavy weather comfortably. "Sherpa" was built in 1977 to Lloyds 100A1 and has had only two owners from new, her current owner having had her for over 35 years. She has been raced and cruised round Britain, Sweden to Portugal to Canaries and Caribbean and back. "Sherpa" is almost ready to do it all again or have a more gentle life in home waters.
The She 36's fin and skeg underwater lines are enhanced by a sleek low coachroof, balanced overhangs and the typical S&S tumblehome on the topsides making her a classic-looking yacht from all angles. These boats rarely come on the market as their owners tend to keep them a long time and anyone considering a Swan, Contessa or similar should take a look. Also see Classic Sailor magazine article "In Praise of the She 36".
