This classic cruising boat has gotten even better! The newer 2011 Yanmar 54 hp Diesel engine and transmission (only 1050 hours) is proven and reliable.
This Cabo Rico Tiburon 36 ketch is a blue water cruising sailboat that evolved from the many sea-going experiences of its designer W.I.B. Crealock, its builder Cabo Rico, and scores of dedicated cruising sailors. From the full keel up to her traditional lines, she was designed for safety, comfort, and beauty, so that a cruising couple could venture anywhere in the world in style. She is a very sound and seaworthy boat. Her cream color and dark green accent compliment the beautiful varnished teak toe rails and trim and she is ALWAYS the prettiest boat in the anchorage.
The Tiburon 36 was designed by W.I.B. Crealock as a live-aboard vessel for a couple, but with accomodations for five. The fiberglass/balsa sandwich hull has a fine entry and a moderate wetted surface that drives easily in light airs. Fiberglass/balsa deck construction plus a full interior liner makes the boat well insulated and exceptionally rigid.
Topside there is a recessed anchor well, two dorade vents, three opening hatches, dodger/bimini, and a very spacious center cockpit. Teak decks and cockpit seats are standard, as is wheel steering, hot and cold pressure water, 110 VAC shore power, interior cushions and many other items.
All ports are bronze and opening, spars are heavy aluminum extrusions, coated with aircraft linear polyurethane. Stanchions, pulpits, life lines, and standing rigging are high quality stainless. Ketch rig provides for easy sail handling.
The interior features numerous lockers and drawers and the finish is luxurious hand-crafted teak. Forward is a large head with shower. The main salon has two roomy settees, a large teak table with fold-over leaf, chart table and fold-up pilot berth. The U-shaped galley has a double compartment refrigerator with freezer (2 ice trays), two deep stainless steel sinks, and a propane range with oven.
The owners cabin is aft, and features a 54 inch wide pull-out double berth, a vanity with sink, two hanging lockers plus many small lockers and drawers.
This boat has a lot of storage, and features 6'3" of Headroom.
