s/v Clea, is a beautiful 1976 42’ Westsail center cockpit. Designed by William Crealock, these vessels were built with high quality construction, and built to circumnavigate the world. s/v Clea is one of the most comfortable and secure long range cruising vessels, made with a heavy displacement of 31,500 lbs. and 12,000 lbs. ballast, with an overbuilt hull and deck. Her spacious decks and high bulwarks make her extra safe at sea. Clea was built as an owners boat for one of the principals of Westsail.
s/v Clea is already well equipped to go long distance with many new, important upgrades, such as all new chain plates (2021), new standing rigging (Dynema 2021), engine/transmission serviced with new hoses, sandblasted and painted (2021), new bimini/dodger, and new sail covers for Main, Staysail, Mizzen (2022). This vessel comes with 2 Genoas, a staysail, storm sail and a main sail, all in good condition. Her powerful 80HP Ford Lehman diesel engine has a great reputation for reliability, longevity and fuel efficiency. The engine is easily accessed below deck with double entry access. s/v Clea has the capacity to hold 200 gallons of fuel and 300 gallons of water, more than enough to get you through long passages. She also comes with a unique sailing dingy to get you to shore.
On this newly varnished interior the Westsail 42’ is plenty comfortable and well laid out. This boat offers more storage spaces and nooks then you will probably fill. As you head down the companionway into the spacious salon to your starboard there is an Island Galley double sink, 3 burner oven/stove and a cold plate refrigeration system with lots of counter space and cupboards. The salon table to port can be put down to make a queen size berth for extra guests. Going from the galley towards the aft is the walk-thru to the aft cabin. Inside the walk thru is where the engine access is, and across from this are storage lockers. The aft stateroom has a king-sized berth with head and another access door to the engine room.
Moving toward the bow on the portside, there is the navigators table with a swivel captains chair. Across the Main salon to starboard is an extra-long settee with storage both underneath and behind the settee. The forward head is a walk thru , to starboard and has the sink cabinetry and head directly across to Port with 2 privacy doors separating the head from the vberth and the main salon. The very large vberth has newly refitted cushions for your comfort.
This is a beautiful older boat that has recently had a lot of work done to it, it is not perfect but certainly has a head start to your perfect cruising vessel.
If you are looking for a sturdy, seaworthy, cruising vessel with all the extras, then come have a look, s/v Clea is ready and waiting for her next sailing adventure.
Owners are open to accepting a smaller boat as a trade in with cash difference.
