The Westerly Longbow accommodation offers up to six berths in two cabins with good headroom of around 6'1" in most areas.
FORECABIN - Fitted with a V berth with infill to create a double berth, beneath berth stowage, shelves, and opening hatch to foredeck.
HEADS - Separate heads compartment to port with marine toilet, holding tank (new 2010), washbasin with combined shower head, storage cupboard, and a hanging locker opposite to starboard.
SALOON - Consisting of a long L-shaped settee to port (which can convert to a double berth), saloon table, shorter settee to starboard, and plenty of storage in various cupboards and lockers. Samsung flatscreen TV with Freeview aerial.
GALLEY - Linear galley forward to starboard equipped with a Plastimo Neptune 2500 two-burner gas cooker with grill and oven, sink, refrigerator (12/240v with automatic switching), and good storage.
CHART TABLE AND QUARTER BERTHS - Aft to starboard is a stow-able aft-facing chart table over a quarter berth, with a larger quarter berth to port.
GENERAL EQUIPMENT - Teak woodwork with vinyl linings (refurbished winter 2021), updated blue tweed upholstery (new 2020), and complimenting curtains and carpets. Pressurised hot and cold water system, hot water heated by either the engine or shorepower via a Quick calorifier (new 2020). Webasto diesel-fired warm air heating system (new 2019). Taylors traditional cabin heater in saloon (new 2017).
Located abaft companionway, Nanni N4.38 four cylinder 38hp diesel engine (new August 2020). Freshwater cooled via heat exchanger. Single lever controls with electric start. Shaft drive to three-blade propeller. Rope cutter to shaft. 76 Litre fuel capacity giving approximately 150 mile range at 5 knot cruising speed.
The engine was installed in August 2020 and has only run for 181hrs since (may increase slightly as still in use). At the time of installation the shaft, stern gland, and exhaust system were all also renewed, and the fuel tank was pressure tested, cleaned, and refurbished.
3 x 12v Batteries (2 x 110ah domestic and separate engine start) charged via engine alternator. Shorepower system with ring mains, immersion heater, and Victron Blue Smart battery charger. 2 x Solar panels with charge regulator.
Masthead rigged sloop. Anodised aluminium mast and boom. Spinnaker pole. Stainless steel standing rigging (new 2017/18). Terylene running rigging. Slab reefing mainsail. Rotostay headsail furling system.
Westerly Longbow built in 1973 by Westerly Marine Construction to a design by Laurent Giles. Blue painted GRP hull with white superstructure and decks with white painted non-slip surfaces (repainted 2022). Teak rubbing strakes. Cast iron fin keel. Tiller steering with extension to skeg hung rudder. Aft self-draining cockpit. Teak cockpit seating.
