SUPER AQUARAMA
After severe testing of the 1962 prototype, the Lipicar, the Aquarama went into production in 1963. The hull is perfectly identical to that of the Tritone Aperto, which ceased production, with many technical and functional improvements. The most obvious are the housing for the anchor at the bow, closed with a small hatch, the bulwark around the bow's trincarino, the dashboard and its frame in shiny Honduras (starting from # 26, the new VDO replace the S.W.). The bow seats are separate, with a bag on the back of the pilot's seat and a folding table on the back of the other seat. The recessed sunbathing area at the stern is slightly wider, towards the bow, compared to that of the Tritone Aperto, and is more easily accessible from the bathing ladder, thanks to a lowered passage on the stern deck. Notable is the effort to improve the quietness and comfort of navigation. Initially, the sides are still in planking, the laminated sides are applied starting from # 4. The upholstery of the first models is white with black edges and orange profiles.
At the end of 1963, the Super Aquarama also went on sale, measuring 8.28 m, with Chrysler engines of 290Hp. The 1964 series is enriched with the updates described for the Tritone, in addition to a new icebox placed under the deck, between the two rows of seats. The deck is now equipped with sliding hatches, instead of flip-up ones. From # 34, the hull receives the same modifications made to that of the Tritone. In 1966, Crusader engines are used and some prototypes with different hulls are produced, the hull of # 178 will be that of the 1967 series, which extends to 8.25 m. In addition to the new hull, which is smoother in navigation, Aquarama and Super can boast the new Riva engines, the result of the collaboration between Riva and Crusader. Furthermore, a marine toilet is installed under the sunbed and the upholstery is now turquoise/ivory for the Aquarama and lobster/ivory for the Super. The 1969 series with # 309 shows a new, sleeker bow wheel, with new fenders and a new bow cap whose design consists of a single air intake instead of the previous two. With # 316, the stern edge is 9 cm higher. In 1971, with # 444, the air intakes of the engine compartment located on the side walls change, both in design and in number (now only two), the length is 8.30 m. With the “Lipicar IV,” # 486, production ceases, in addition to the Aquarama, also of the Super Aquarama, from 1970 measuring 8.50 m.
In 1972, seven Long Aquaramas are produced, so called because they measure 8.50 m (from # 496 to 502). They also have only two air intakes on the sides, like the last specimens from 1971, and on the dashboard, new engine start buttons with rubber caps.
