For the ancient Greeks, Venus anadiomene was Venus born from the waves of the sea.
The italian poet D'Annunzio dedicated this epithet to Venice: the anadiomede city, beautiful as Venus and rising from the sea.
Evidently the first Venetian owner of this beautiful seagoing boat wanted to equate her with Venus and Venice and named her ANADIOMENE
Anadiomene was designed by Alain Buchanan (1922-2015) a renowned British naval architect and yachtsman. He designed over 2400 yachts, including yachts that won the Admiral's Cup, Cowes Week, the Fastnet and the Sidney Hobart.
Buchanan began his career as a draughtsman and aircraft engineer at the De Havilland Aircraft Company. In 1997 he received a major award from RINA ( Italian Naval Register ) for his design of small and medium-sized boats built in Italy. Buchanan's cruising boats are famous for their seaworthiness, excellent hulls, interior roominess and optimisation of volumes and spaces.
Anadiomene was built by Cantiere Craglietto in 1967 in Trieste. Like his father and grandfather, Mariano Craglietto was considered an excellence in shipbuilding. The designer Carlo Sciarrelli publicly praised him, declaring the Craglietto shipyard 'the best shipyard in the world'.

INTERIOR
Very spacious interior:
Cabins:1 aft cabin with two berths and bathroom, 1 double cabin in the bow, 1 cabin with three berths and a further three berths in the dinette.Total 10 berths
Bathrooms :Two: one with electric WC and one with manual pump
Description :Going below deck you arrive directly in the dinette, comfortable and spacious, with four large portholes, two of which can be opened fully. This allows a complete view of the outside panorama and perfect ventilation. The cushions in this area were renewed in 2021. Here we find a comfortable sofa that can be used as a navigational berth, two settees/berths with a dining table that can be lowered to create a double bed. Towards the stern, a door opens onto a cabin with two very spacious bunks and a dedicated bathroom.
Continuing from the dinette towards the bow to starboard is the galley with an airing hatch. It is equipped with a three-burner Alpes cooker with oven, cockpit refrigerator, and sink with hot and cold water. Opposite on the left side is a bathroom with electric pump, sink and shower.
A door separates the living area from the walk-through cabin where there are three beds..
Finally, in the bow, the fore cabin, which can also be closed with a door, can be used to create a large double bed (cushions made in 2021) or to be used as a sail locker. From the forward cabin, through a porthole, there is direct access to the deck.
Since 1967, the year of its launch, the boat has changed very few owners, who have been able to love her, maintaining her with precise and punctual ordinary and extraordinary interventions, modernising her just enough to make her liveable and seaworthy without altering the original design.
It is a boat suitable for cruising with ample interior and exterior space, and the on-board equipment (sails, dinghy, instrumentation, tanks, generator, double anchor, etc.) is complete and suitable for long navigation.
In the external cockpit, in addition to the helm and navigation instruments (modernised this year 2022), there is a convivial space with a removable teak table and complete cushions.
