Swing Keel = Explore rivers and tuck into safe anchorages
John Deere Engine = "Nothing runs like a Deere!"
This beautiful Ed Joy Custom Good Hope 56 was built in Jacobs Bros. boat yard commissioned by the current and only owners. They wanted a safe, low maintenance, stable craft to sail around the watery world with their young children. And they did! How cool is that?
Safety starts with the double, heavy duty rail all around the perimeter of the boat. Grab rails can be found in every critical spot to make travel up top a breeze. The large open cockpit is comfortable and dual helm stations make it easy to view every angle under sail. Want to escape from the weather? Enter through the water-tight companionway door into the pilot house for complete visibility and protection from the elements. Here you have access to the brains of the boat as well as room for family dining. With a view into the galley, no one is left out of the equation.
The engine room is literally a room! It has plenty of space to take care of engine maitnance business without being cramped. Duel Racor filters keep the engines running clean. The redundancy in these systems keeps you moving forward not repairing boats in exotic places - but enjoying your time in paradise!
The galley is an amazing space with a heater for higher latitudes. The custom tiles surround the heater make it a work of art! Seating space in the galley can be used for conversation with the chef or a cozy homework area. The huge double sinks can fit a large lobster pot with the option of fresh water saving spigot to choose from. Every cabinet on this boat is equipped with cabinet doors that enable air to circulate.
The interior includes a "classroom" area which can be easily converted into another roomy cabin. Right off the galley is the bunk room that will accommodate four persons. Privacy curtains and individual reading lights make it a cozy space for your team. Aft you will find the roomy captains quarters with king size bed center with desk space. Communications with the cockpit is also a plus.
Forward you will find an amazing work room with ample tool storage and counter space. Turn around and you will find the bath tub and shower! Very efficient!
An expedition yacht capable of cruising around the world from high-latitude to any tropical paradise. It's your choice with absolutely no restrictions!
