Inspired by one of Olin Stephens all-time favorite designs, BABE, a 30' wooden sloop built in 1935 for Commodore Matheson for the Miami-Bermuda race. BABE proved herself in winning races due to her plumb bow, generous sail plan, and short stern overhang. This was the last design project that Olin Stephens participated in prior to his passing away in 2008 in which simplicity, affordability, ease of sailing and the passion for sailing performance were Olin's and S&S's design objectives. The pride of ownership of such a classic design is timeless especially given the expertise of the S&S design team who has recreated BABE using modern materials, state of the art construction methods, combined with an efficient, modern rudder and keel design.
