With a 50kW/hour lithium battery, Sunshine can cruise in electric mode at 5 knots for 5 hours for a range of 25 nautical miles.  There will still be plenty of charge to get through the next day while recharging.

Accommodations

The interior of Sunshine has a luxury, high-end, trawler-style finish.  From her "sleigh" queen bed facing forward in the master to her roomy salon, master dressing room and spacious guest cabin, Sunshine is the perfect home afloat for long periods of time.  She can live indefinitely on the hook without ever starting up her diesel motor/generators - the sun provides all the power needed for a live-aboard lifestyle - including modest, 25 NM, jaunts from anchorage to anchorage.

 

Galley

In keeping with her high-tech engineering, the galley is also very energy efficient.  The induction cooktops use less energy than either LPG or electric heating elements.  The GE Advantium oven also is an efficient cooking tool.  And perhaps best of all is the Hitachi refrigerator/freezer - it uses the equivalent amount of energy as a dim, 35 watt, lightbulb!
