Are you looking for a real Alaskan work horse? This might be the vessel for you. This 40' Svendsen Marine landing craft is built like a tank. With 1/4 inch bottom plate and 3/16 side, she is built for all that Southeast Alaska can throw at her.
You can access this landing craft from either the rear door or the front facing center cut bow door. Inside she has 3 forward facing shock ride seats. One for the skipper and 2 mounted adjacently on the port side. Behind the skipper and dual mate chairs, there are 2 bench seats that can either be used as passenger seating or as bench bunks. She has a full set of electronics and great views both forward and aft.
Aft of the cabin, she has enough space to work or run a couple down riggers if that's what you desire. She also is armed with high safety railings and a ladder to access the roof of the cabin. Forward of the cabin is where she can really do her work. A large open deck space for hauling equipment, materials, or lounging in the sun. Plenty of room for a full fledge party with barbecue! She has a starboard mounted steer station forward and an electric winch to control the drop bow.
Engine and Mechanical
This Svendsen is furnished with an awesome power package. Twin Cummins QSB 5.9 liter 330 horse power diesel engines mounted to a pair of Hamilton jets will definitely move her swiftly through the water. Even though she is a big heavy machine, this power package allows her to cruise around 2650 RPM and run around 28 MPH while only burning around 13 gallons per side per hour. For a vessel like this to get over 1 nautical mile per gallon is impressive.
Electrical and Electronics
She has a full arsenal of electronics at the main helm including VHF, a Standard Horizon and Garmin GPS/Plotter, Furuno sounder, and Cummins "Smart Craft" digital engine display. She has a hydronic forced air diesel furnace that includes window defrosters.
