Wow. Absolutely stunning! Sea Dove’s interior is fabulous with its nautical polished wood décor.
Enter through the door and take two steps down into the main salon. Large windows let in plenty of light. A comfortable cushioned convertible dinette is on port and is accented by lovely brass bar footrests and reading lamps. A Sony flat screen TV with DVD player is inset into the bulkhead and provides entertainment at night or on those long voyages. Forward of the dinette is a spacious U-shaped galley with a long stretch of Corian counter space and sooooo many drawers and cabinets. Also in the galley is a Princess/Sharp stove and a trash compactor. Across the walkway is an apartment-sized Sea Freeze refrigerator with matching wood paneling on the doors. A wet bar is adjacent to the fridge and has its own petite sink. This is a perfect place to plug in your blender and whip up some margaritas for your guests. The starboard interior helm has a large wood ships wheel and some nearby brass instruments really make this area feel fit for a captain. Down into the bow a few steps from the main salon into the bow is the master stateroom v-berth. There is a washer/dryer located in this area, perfect for those longer trips or if you live aboard this beauty long term. The master stateroom has a queen berth. Sea Dove sleeps four comfortably. The vessel head is also found in this area and has an electric Vacuflush toilet and a large stand-up shower. Three polyethylene tanks carry a total 467 gallons of water and she has a 47 gallon holding tank. During cooler weather, heat is provided by her forced air hydronic furnace. This lovely lady is very well insulated for all season liveaboard and long range cruising.
Port-to-starboard swim deck with safety railing makes embarking and disembarking Sea Dove a breeze, particularly for those who don’t quite have their sea legs and may be unstable on their feet. The cockpit has one of the three on-board steering stations and the deck is partially covered by the extended flybridge. High gunnels around the cockpit create a safe environment for passengers of all ages, as well as furry friends. Up a short ladder from the cockpit brings you to the extended cabin top and the flybridge helm. The swivel captain’s chair is quite comfortable and has a perfect view over the bow and of the surrounding area. There is a lot of standing room up here, as well as safety railing, if you want to turn your outing into a whale watching expedition for friends. Or use it for storage of a dinghy, crab pots, kayak or a deep freezer. Sea Dove is equipped with a hydraulic pot puller and a flybridge boom. She has great deck storage as well!
With Twin, very efficient 2007 Duetz 36 horsepower diesel engine smoothly nudges Sea Dove along the coastline. She cruises at 8 knots at 2,000 rpm and her engines have just over 500 hours. So much cruising left to be had! Her four aluminum fuel tanks carry a total of 415 gallons of fuel. She burns approximately two gallons of fuel per hour and can travel a great distance before needing to refuel. She is dry keel cooled, has a four-blade bronze propeller, and her exhaust is a quiet, fly-bridge dry stack with Crowl mufflers, meaning you can enjoy the stern under way without noise and diesel fumes. The 316 SS Kort Nozzles allow for 90% prop efficiency and unbelievable handling. The vessel is secured at anchor by a hydraulic windlass with 360 feet of cable and chain, two anchors, and a secondary electric windless.
Her stereo system with excellent speakers starts any outing on a fun note. Helm electronics include a Furuno GPS, radar and depth sounder, as well as a ComNav autopilot. When at the dock, plug Sea Dove into 50 amp shore power. She has two start batteries and two house banks to get you off the dock. She has a Pro Mariner battery charger and an alternator and inverter. Electro corrosion control is included. Her operating systems are engineered to run while she is dry docked for short or long term, including her Deutz diesel generator set, heating, water and more. So she can also function nicely as a comfortable cabin!
Designed by respected marine architect Nils Lucander and launched new in 2007, this long range coastal trawler is seaworthy, fuel efficient and has every conceivable cruising and live-aboard convenience. She was brought up from Anacortes, Wash., under her own power through Alaska’s Inside Passage, across the Gulf of Alaska and into Prince William without incident in summer 2016. She is currently berthed in Whittier Harbor in Whittier, Alaska. This is a great all-around boat, be sure to see her in person!
