The Jeanneau 42DS offers an amazing amount of room for a boat this size. The DS design lends itself to a HUGE king size centerline berth in the aft cabin with seating both port & starboard. There is access to the large aft head from the port side of the aft cabin. Moving forward from the aft cabin to starboard is the well appointed galley. To port is the forward facing nav station. The main salon has a straight settee to port and a u-shaped dining area with table to starboard. The table can covert this area into a double berth. Forward to starboard is the 2nd head with shower. The forward cabin is large and offers a large v-berth.
L shaped aft, with propane stove & oven, formica counters with lots of counter and storage space. Refrigeration is 12v refrigerator/freezer. The deck saloon configuration offers bin storage under the raised floor and a place for much of the easily accessable mechanical equipment so that there is much more storage that is easy to get to.
Forward is protected windlass w/chain & rode & draining storage space. All controls are led aft to the cockpit. In-mast main furling & Genoa controlled from there. Her twin wheels allow you to sit on the high side in heavier air where you can see the on-coming seas and on the low side in light air. You always have a comfortable grip on the close at hand wheel. Harken self tailing winches make Ryseadan easy to single hand. The cockpit rivals the comfort of what you would find on a 50' boat! The table w/included ice box has 2 leaves. The sheets are led to the rear helm wheel stations so that w/the auto-tack feature on the auto pilot you can tack the boat while 4-6 guest enjoy lunch and no one has to move. There is comfortable walking space from the large swim platform past the wheel & along side the table with no climb up over the seats. High back rests & large cockpit lockers are just a couple of the features of this well thought out cockpit.
