Comments on performance from seller
This boat is unique in that it is one of the deep draft versions. I believe that Gerry Douglas told me that they only made 10 or 12 hulls with the deep draft. They went to the wing keel, because it cost too much to ship with the deep keel. At any rate this boat with the deep keel tracks beautifully and with the deep keel and its deep, big skeg mounted rudder she does not round-up. In 18 knots true with the 155 and full main with just a small roll in the luff she is balanced with no helm drag and making 8 knots or better sailing at 35 degrees into the wind with the backstay adjuster at 1100 pounds. The boat sails beautifully, you get her on a close reach in 15 to 18 knots true and you're pushing 9 knots. What i am saying is for cruising sailors or new to sailing folks, she is well balanced and easy to handle. In 6 ft swells, 10 seconds apart she is very comfortable!
