With 100’s of boats sold in to the UK and Ireland since her launch in 2002 the J109 has proved to be a popular cruising boat with excellent racing characteristics suitable for shorthanded racing or for fully crewed point to point or round the cans and regatta racing.
She features a retractable bowsprit and asymmetric spinnaker system and 2-cabin interior layout with standing headroom. She is designed with a very low VCG, long waterline, and generous sail plan with the horse power for competitive racing and stability for relaxed cruising when the racing crew is not aboard. The J/109 is stable, easy to sail, and a proven performance boat. There is interior volume and amenities necessary for comfortable cruising and a great dual-purpose deck layout.
Sailed mainly in the Irish Sea since 2011 where Sgrech has won the ISORA (Irish Sea Offshore Racing Association) overall championship on three occasions and has featured in the top 4 for the last seven years!
