The DeFever 44 Motoryacht features a layout which accounts for her enduring popularity with cruisers. The 44 has two Heads and two Staterooms. The forward and aft staterooms are separated by the Salon, thus ensuring separation and privacy for Owners and their Guests. The beautiful open Salon, entered by a door off the aft deck or through the starboard side deck access door, has all around windows, and Galley UP on the same level. There are teak parquet floors on all interior soles.
The Forward Guest Stateroom has a large V-berth with filler (with custom sheets); with shelves outboard, side by side hanging lockers with louvered doors; a storage cabinet; and drawers under the berth. This cabin is nicely ventilated with an overhead opening hatch and four polished stainless steel ports with screens. There is an ensuite/day Head with a Vacu-Flush head, shower, vanity w/storage and an opening SS port. Aft of this Guest Stateroom is the access door to the large engine room w/standing headroom.
The Main Salon is next aft up four stairs and has a stylish black leather sofa on portside with a matching recliner chair and stool on starboard side. The Salon is large, open and airy. You can choose to be in air conditioned comfort or open windows and doors for the outdoors feel. To starboard is the lower helm. There is full instrumentation and navigation electronics at this helm. There is a starboard side door immediately at this helm. On the starboard side is also all the entertainment center and its electronics. To the port side is a large chart navigation area behind the windshield followed by a sofa going aft. There are two stools set up at a breakfast bar facing aft to the pass-through from the Galley.
Next aft on this same level, is the large U-shaped Galley. There is lots of counter space on the Corian countertop. Whether facing the port side stove/oven or the aft facing sink you are looking straight out a window with a wonderful view. The Galley is equipped with all the latest appliances - refrigerator/freezer, coffee maker, microwave oven. There is a generous amount of storage in cabinets and drawers.
Down four steps from the Galley is the Aft Owner Stateroom. It is well ventilated and private. There is a Queen island berth (walk around) with flanking night tables with drawers. There are port and starboard hanging lockers; and a vanity bureau/small desk. There is an ensuite Head with separate stall shower, a vanity, abundant storage and a Vacu-Flush head. There is a Laundry closet with an externally vented Dryer and a separate washer unit. This is NOT a combo unit.
The Aft Sundeck is accessed from the Salon up four stairs on the aft starboard side. The Sundeck has a fiberglass hardtop and this deck is surrounded by SS stanchions with teak cap rails, teak covering boards, and white plastic weather
From the Sundeck forward to the Flybridge are four molded stairs. The Flybridge has two long bench seats on port and starboard that double as spare beds if need be. There are two forward facing bench seats. There is an overhead bimini top that covers the entire Flybridge. The helm has full engine instrumentation and electronics.
The Galley is immediately to port upon entering the boat from the aft deck. The practical U-shaped layout is complimented by two opening windows - one conveniently serving as a pass-through to the aft deck. The ventilation is wonderful and there is ample counter space and storage. The "salon side" of the galley counter serves as a breakfast bar.
The aft deck and huge flybridge are beautiful examples of the premium outdoor living space which the DF 44 Motoryacht affords. The aft deck is easily accessed by built-in stairs from the cockpit. It is covered by the hardtop overhead boat deck, and offers that accommodates a large table and chairs for outside dining and entertaining. It even has a pass-through window direct from the galley, and a built-in cabinet with sink and icemaker. The DF 44 features full walk-around side decks.
The flybridge, with its facing port and starboard day beds (storage beneath) and additional seating which faces forward, is larger and more accommodating than most. It is truly a wonderful place from which to enjoy the view, the ride, a great book, or dinner with friends! Excellent views forward, and from the helm you can see both corners of your transom for ease of backing! Aft of large flybridge is a large boat deck for the RIB tender with its hoist.
SKINNY DIPPER has two Staterooms with two Heads. The Master with its ensuite Head is aft down a stairwell from the Galley, and the Guest head and Stateroom are forward from the Inside Helm station. She has a lot of teak cabinetry and impeccable teak paneling.
The engine room, with its near standing headroom, has lots of elbow room. It has been beautifully laid out and engineered to keep service points accessible, to make maintenance chores comfortable, and to keep everything easily visible for thorough and quick engine room checks. The engine room access is easy and convenient through a door from the forward stateroom.
There are all new batteries in the boat (10/2017)- thruster battery with its own separate charger, genset start battery, engine start batteries and house batteries.
