Accommodations The Sabre 402 is one of the best sailing boats that Sabre has built to date. And her interior is unique as well. The 402 features a very large forward stateroom with a large double berth, hanging lockers, drawers, cabinets and a vanity sink with mirror.
The main salon offers an “L” shaped settee to port that converts to a double berth with filler cushion. To starboard is a straight settee that can double as a sea berth. There is a large drop leaf centerline dining table.
The unique part of the 402 layout comes in the galley, aft head and aft cabin. Sabre moved the engine forward from it’s traditional location under the companionway to a more central location forward of the companionway and incorporated it into the galley. This allows for a large “center island” in the galley that houses the sinks and work space. The galley is a “U” shape that offers excellent work areas and a very secure galley under way.
