The 280 is a sleek weekend cruiser with well-appointed interior and comfortable accommodations for six.
She has a spacious single-level cockpit with wet bar and has lots of seating (portside lounger, rear-facing bench seat that slides out to create a sun lounger and stern bench seat folds out of the way to make more room when not being used). Step out the rear to the very large swim platform with hot and cold shower.
A centerline companionway leads to the 280’s cherry-trimmed interior with U-shaped dinette to port, full-service galley opposite (stove, microwave, frig), convertible V-berth forward (with removable table), and a compact head/shower (with Vacuflush) to starboard. Privacy curtains separate both sleeping areas from the salon.
Bow access with the molded steps in the sliding companionway door via the walk-thru windshield. This is an important feature for easy-access to the bow, particularly for kids and pets. Other Sundancer models have a narrow walk-way on port and starboard.
Built on a solid fiberglass deep-V hull, twin 220hp MerCruiser sterndrives, the 280 Sundancer will cruise at 24–26 knots (about 40 knots top).
Upgrades: Engines have been rebuilt. Upholstery has been replaced. Hydraulic trim tabs have been replaced with an upgraded, self-leveling electric system. Windlass has been replaced. Both transom assemblies with boots have been replaced. Carpet in salon has been replaced with faux teak and holly.
