The Farr 40 One Design PT73 was built by Carrol Marine and launched in 2000 She is now listed exclusively For Sale with YOTI Race.
The Farr 40 One Design was conceived as a high performance short course racing 40' footer off the back of the highly successful Mumm30 (Farr 30). The concept was to create a yacht that was demanding and exciting to sail but not beyond the capabilities of relatively inexperienced crews and with strict owner / driver class rules.
In PT73 there is an opportunity to get involved without breaking the bank, in some of Australia's and the Worlds most exciting One Design class racing. If you prefer however, you can become the envy of the fleet and enjoy some seriously fun and fast club racing and twilight series.
PT73 has been fitted fit with a bowsprit to allow her to carry asymmetrical kites for club racing but this can easily be removed to bring her back to One Design specification.
A recent $30,000 refit was undertaken which included installation of some of the best Garmin electronics available including a GPSMAP 1022 xsv plotter, GNX 120 displays on the mast and GNX 130 displays on the coach house and at the nav station.
