Two cabin, one head layout. Below deck, the varnished teak interior bulkheads, cabinets and joinery along with the white formica panels and teak and holly sole combines to create a warm and inviting interior. Nine opening hatches assure abundant light and ventilation throughout the main cabin.
The private guest stateroom is forward with a double berth, innerspring mattress and numerous drawers and shelves for storage of personal items while aboard. Also, includes a hanging locker to starboard and shelves above the berth. Even though there is only one head and shower on the boat, a separate sink and vanity are provided in the forward cabin, making this a very functional design for hosting guests.
Next aft is the main salon with a U-shaped settee to port and a straight settee to starboard. The teak nav desk is at the aft end of the settee with a large chart table with the electrical panel outboard. It comes with a swivel chair and plenty of space for electronics.
The head is next aft to starboard with a separate shower, vanity and composting toilet (Once you try one, you'll never have anything else - No odors.) This bright, airy compartment has the luxury of an enclosed shower with one-piece acrylic door. There are two entrances into the head – one from the salon and a private entrance from the owner's stateroom, creating an ensuite when there are no guests aboard.
The owner's stateroom aft is highlighted by the oversize, centerline double berth with innerspring mattress. Two separate dressing areas, each with upholstered seat and hanging locker, allow plenty of room to move about in this private retreat. This spacious cabin features numerous lockers, cabinets, and drawers. The reading lamps, abundant natural light and ventilation, comfortable seating and private access to the head make this cabin an inviting master suite.
The galley is conveniently located at the base of the companionway. It offers all the conveniences and space to prepare gourmet meals aboard. The L-shaped design with its molded one-piece countertops and integrated trash chute is built for efficient food preparation and quick, easy clean-up. There is plenty of storage in the four, large over-counter cabinets, the large, dry food bin and the generous separate freezer.
The Catalina 380 has a very good working deck and cockpit arranged to be easily sailed by a couple. In the cockpit, excellent visibility forward is assured by the low-profile, ball bearing mainsheet traveler. For the crew’s comfort, the cockpit table comes with two drop leafs, beverage storage, and footrest. Steering is a traditional pedestal layout with stainless guard and a 5-inch compass with stainless binnacle. The wide weather decks are built for safety with textured nonskid and gently angled surfaces without sharp corners. The oversize stern boarding ladder leads to a hot and cold freshwater shower and two large storage lockers.
The Catalina 380 is sensibly equipped with an offshore-capable rig with double spreader mast, in-line uppers, intermediates, fore and aft lowers, forestay, and backstay. The inboard shroud base allows for narrow sheeting angles and the ability to carry large genoa's.
