“BearsNest” has been set up to accommodate 2 people for extended periods. She can accommodate 4 very comfortably also with tons or storage room still and not be crowded. She has always been in The Bahamas her entire life by both previous owner’s and is the perfect boat for cruising The Bahamas with her shoal draft of 3 ft- 4 in. With her full style keels she can sit on the bottom [ sand ] with no damage to her.

This 2 cabin, 2 head layout is the perfect escape from the life grind. With a 55 quart freezer, you are able to keep your items cold with the solar panels that recharge the more than adequate batteries.
Both the propane Force 10-3 burner stove/oven and rail mounted SS Magma BBQ run off the 2-20 lb aluminum tanks. There is a solenoid gas detection safety system installed with the tanks also being in a vented stern locker.
The boat has an enormous amount of locker space inboard for dry goods. We typically carry enough for our 3 months and only have to buy perishables such as fresh vegetables, eggs and such.
She's able to also store 10 cases of beer, 4-5 cases bottled water, 4-5 cases of pop and such onboard for our season in both stern hulls behind the berths and in the salon lockers under the seats along with the forward berths.
There is another huge forward locker on deck behind the anchor locker that can carry additional water or fuel jugs and the 2 dingy 6 gal. gas tanks. along with spare anchors and chain.
Lewmar-Lofrans Project 1000 electric windlass, Danforth anchor with 100 ft chain and 150 ft nylon rode. Bruce anchor with same, then a plough with 30 ft chain and 150 ft rode.
There are interior curtains in the salon and new Sumbrella 2019 exterior salon window and hatch covers. A 18” A/C-D/C Tv/Dvd player, 4 speaker AM/FM/CD Sony stereo system. All interior lights are LED or Fluorescent . Cockpit accent LED white or blue lights under solar panels. New 2019 Signalmate masthead LED tricolour running lights with photo cel operated anchor light.
There is a Garmin 546s char plotter/depth sounder with US and Bahamas 3D vision cards. Also equipped with a Standard Horizon Explorer VHF with AIS connectivity coupled wit a hem station mounted RAM. Also tri data Raymarine ST60+wind.
The 8-6 volt golf cart batteries [ 2 banks of 4] 2017-easily keep both the refrigerator/freezer and portable Engel 55 quart freezer running for days without any charging. So with the 300 watts of solar panels there’s no problem keeping food cool and frozen indefinitely.
The 2GM20F Yanmar engines typically give you 1 hr per gallon @6-7 knots depending on the wind and waves. With the 40 gallon tank this gives you a range of 240 nautical miles. We do a lot of motorsailing also with just the jib [to weather] or main and jib reaching allowing for speeds of 6-8 and beyond with just part throttle or sometimes just 1 engine running to give a little boost.
Port engine rebuilt 2013 approx 700 hrs., starboard engine rebuilt 2009 approx. 1400 hrs. Saildrives serviced every 2 years, new zincs and bottom seals.
She is easy to sail and all control lines are in the cockpit except for the main halyard. There is a Milwaukee 28 volt angle drill included with a “winch bit” to allow assisted hoisting of the main.
There are many spare parts [ alternator, starter, water pump, etc.] that are onboard also along with a variety of SS fasteners and such.
The 2000 watt gas inverter/generator when hooked into the dedicated shore power cord that’s included, will supply enough power to heat the 120 V 6 gal. hot water tank in 20 to 30 minutes. Then it's capable of running both 40 amp battery chargers to boost the battery bank if required while at the same time giving you the ability to charge phones, computers, spotlights etc. It is only 48 lbs, quiet at 48 dBA and will run over 9 hours on a tank of gas.
