Originally built in Cowes in the United Kingdom as a mine sweeper the vessel was purchased by the very well know Queensland identity Keith Williams and in 1992, he converted the vessel to a custom fitted modern motor yacht.
The hull is triple diagonal Honduras Mahogany planked with bronze rovings holding the planks together. It has had the West Systems epoxy coating with triaxial glass applied and a full-length steel shoe is fitted that protects the hull and gives it mighty strength from stem to stern.

In 2009 / 2010 “ACHILLES III” underwent a major refit that included a full exterior repaint covering both the hull and superstructure. Also new teak decks were laid as well as new laminated windows fitted, additional upgrades included the installation of automatic glass sliding doors on the boat deck and main deck plus new clears to the aft deck. New air conditioning systems including compressors and air handlers were installed together with extensive engine room pipe work, new pumps, new floors and perforated overheads and a
new Furuno navigation package. Teak and holly varnished floors were also laid in the wheelhouse, bar and main deck entries.
With four staterooms including the aft king full beam master, VIP queen, starboard and port twin cabins plus crew quarters forward, she boasts plenty of accommodation for comfortable cruising with friends or family.
