Deck and Cockpit
Shooting Star has all of the features that made Corsair's F-27, such a well received boat. When including the trampolines her deck space rivals that of most 50 foot boats. This makes her comfortable at anchor while safe underway. Shooting Star's trampolines are fastened to her hull and ama's with Spectra which gives a sense of security.
Her cockpit has ample space for comfortable sailing but offers the helmsman the ability to sail the boat singlehandedly with easy to reach lines, winches and clutches. The aft cabin is accessed through the aft companionway in the cockpit. Going forward it is easy to step below through the forward companionway. Shooting Star is set up for cruising and has a new bimini that is not found on most F-27's. Sailing fast in all wether is a joy not to be missed.
Below Decks
Four people can sleep aboard Shooting Star comfortably. The aft cabin is private and accessed from the cockpit. This space has a solar fan as well as a DC fan that keeps air flowing. Because of the bimini and a companionway screen the hatch can stay open which helps keep this cabin cool. The salon are which is just forward of the galley (to port) has to long benches that are both comfortable sea berths. All the way forward over the V berth is an overhead hatch that makes this cabin a pleasant place to sleep as well.
All of Shooting Stars electrical systems are located below. The Removable solar panels that are placed on deck are wired into so battery charging can be done with ease while on the hook or away from the boat. Battery switches and breakers are within easy reach on the starboard side. The new chart plotter is on a swivel arm which enables planning from below or operation in the cockpit. With everything thought out carefully, Shooting Star is certainly the best F-27 on the market in years.
The Galley area has a sink that taps into the freshwater tank and a Coleman stove that is capable of delivering hot meals quickly. Your favorite cooler fits perfectly under the companionway step. This layout, while compact, makes Shooting Star very user friendly.
