I purchased this 1986 Checkmate Enforcer in 2016. The boat was stored in a heated garage at the time. There was one previous owner. The year prior to me purchasing the boat all stringers and the transom were replaced. In addition to this an all new cubby cabin from top to bottom and all vinyl surfaces replaced.
The boat was in excellent condition. I knew it was a great buy.
I had the boat on the water only a few times. Handles great, very fast, comes straight to plane. Visions of Miami Vice danced in my head. ( I loved the 80’s).
Then disaster struck. I tried to winterize the boat myself the following year. There was a little water left and over the winter the block cracked.
We ordered a new block, racing cams, etc. Everything that needed to be done was done. The throttle cables were replace as well.
The boat is in perfect working order, turn key and ready to go. The gel-coat has just been polished out and looks great.
Some of the key features and what is included with the boat are as follows: Sea to land radio, antenna, light rod and night lights inside and out. Brand new bimini top (red). Stereo CD and amplifier with two Kenwood 6”x9”s and two 12” subs. Extra battery. Two anchors with rope. Four buoys with rope. Five life jackets. Two person cockpit tube with rope (brand new). Galvanized double axle trailer with winch. Port-o-potty. There is an additional hookup for a second antenna. Out back are two fold down steps and platforms. Switches include: blower, pump, navigation lights: anc. and auto, D.C acc., and horn. Six gauges with wood trim.
Reason for selling: Wife and a new baby!
I’ve looked for comparable boats across the states and this is by far the most comprehensive and well maintained Enforcers. Literally everything but the hull and trailer are new. There is a few small scratches in the gel-coat but nothing that sticks out. The boat is sleek and beautiful, the long nose and stature really needs to be experienced in person.
