Magenta Sky is unique. She has served her present owner well since he bought her in 2011 and has done a circumnavigation and Atlantic voyages. A full survey has just been completed and is available to a serious enquirer.
A Bruce Roberts design, she was fitted out by a skilled shipwright and the interior woodwork is of very high quality. She has been well maintained, including a full recondition of the engine in 2010, and a summary of work done over the past 13 years is available on request.
She has laid teak decks, relaid in 2014. There is a spray hood and bimini. An arch at the stern holds the solar panels and wind generator.
She offers seven berths in total. Storage is excellent. The utility cabin with additional heads is a useful feature.
Of her sailing capabilities, the owner says:
'As regards my sailing in Magenta Sky, I have sailed extensively in the Irish Sea and the Western Isles in her; circumnavigated Ireland; circumnavigated Scotland via the Orkneys; crossed the Bay of Biscay 4 times; and completed an Atlantic Circuit via Madeira, Antigua, Nevis and St Kitts, The British Virgin Islands, Bermuda, the Azores, and Eire. For what it is worth I navigated the vast majority of the Atlantic Circuit using celestial navigation. The worst conditions I have experienced in her were 47 knots of wind with very confused 5 metre waves due to repeated enormous depressions passing through at 800 miles per day! We sailed downwind with about 1 metre of yankee out. She was very comfortable, I a little less so... The bottom line on it is that she is a great blue water cruiser, very seaworthy and with extraordinary stowage (I have never used it all!)'
Magenta Sky has well designed accommodation in excellent condition. There is varnished woodwork throughout with attractive joinery. Flooring is in excellent condition as is the headlining. There is Eberspacher heating. Hot water is provided by the engine and by an immersion heater.
To port is the galley, with a double aft cabin. To starboard is the chart table and aft of that a utility cabin. This houses a second heads, the wet locker and access to the generator.
The saloon provides comfortable seating with cream upholstery and a saloon table which folds or extends. Here are two settee berths and a pilot berth to starboard.
The forecabin has a double berth offset and a seating area as well as storage.
The aft cabin has a small double berth, space to stand, and storage.
