The Nova Marine 44 Sundeck Motoryacht (known on the East Coast as the Heritage 44 Sundeck) is an expanded version of the popular Nova 42 with a slightly enlarged salon and aft cabin dimensions and a larger aft deck. Like her sister ship, the 44 was built on a solid fiberglass hull with moderate beam and a long prop-protecting keel. Inside, the Nova’s two stateroom floor plan is arranged with the galley and dinette down from the salon level. Note that both cabins feature center-line berths: queen size in the aft cabin with full head en suite and slightly larger than full size berth in the forward cabin. Each head features a stand-alone shower. The aft master stateroom is quite large with excellent teak woodwork. The full-width aft sundeck is large enough for entertaining a small crowd. Access to the deck is through either port or starboard wing doors in the sundeck area. The flybridge will seat six around the helm. Additional features include a radar arch, aft deck wet bar storage for an inflatable on the sundeck roof and swim platform.
This yacht is powered by Caterpillar 3208 TA diesel engines, each providing 375 HP. The starboard engine currently shows 1691 hours on the meter; the port engine shows 1675 hours. Each includes Racor 900 FG fuel filters, flex shaft couplings, and packless shaft seals. Water is evacuated from the bilge via three automatic bilge pumps with a manual back-up whaler bilge pump. The engine room has its own instrument and control panel and a reverse engine/generator oil change system is included. There is a Glendenning engine synchronizer.
The generator is an Onan 8.0 kw showing less than 1500 hours of use. The shore power arrangement includes two 50 amp/125 VAC inlets. The charger/inverter is a Professional Mariner Pro-Marine ProNautic 12.50 P rated at 50 amps with AC power/Temp Controller/Active Status.
Comfort is maintained in the interior by two Cruisair SA10 reverse cycle heating/air conditioning units.
Ground tackle includes one CQR type anchor with extensive chain rode and one Danforth 40 with chain/rope rode. There is a single roller chock. Ground tackle is controlled by a Vetus electric windlass.
Recent upgrades include a new memory foam mattress in the v berth, new cutlass bearings, and significant upgrades to the electrical system including new shore power inlets, new shore power cable and rewiring of the shore power supply at the electrical panel.
This Sundeck Motoryacht presents very well with extensive teak throughout and a beautiful teak and holly sole. Whether underway and enjoying the view from the fully enclosed bridge, enjoying a quiet evening in the main salon or entertaining in the spacious sundeck, this vessel offers a tremendous value to the weekend cruiser, the long distance cruiser or the full-time live aboard.
The boat is currently on-the-hard under shrink wrap and winterized in Warwick, RI.
