This boat has been lovingly cared for by an extremely knowledgeable owner for the past 24 years. To modernize her the Bertram stripes were removed, the cockpit hatches and sole were redone and modernized, the boat has been painted, all the teak was removed. ONLY 300 hours SMOH, this boat will provide many years of cruising to her next owner.
The Bertram 46 Convertible was for many years the standard by which other production sportfishing boats her size were measured. Her popularity has much to do with the precise handling and impressive seakeeping characteristics of the 46's deep vee hull design. Many changes were made throughout this boats 16 year production run and the 46 III model was the most updated. The 46 III model featured a updated layout with oak woodwork and a centerline queen forward as well as a fiberglass cockpit sole, transom door, the larger 600 hp 8V92's, and increased fuel capacity equaling 720 gallons.
While there are certainly other 46 MK III's for less, this vessel is in much better condition and has been better cared for than most of the others. She is clean boat on deck, in the cabin, and in the engine room. Owner has moved to a large center console and is tired of paying for two slips.
Priced aggressively, this will be the next Bertram battlewagon to sell!
The Bertram 46III Convertible is truly a high-powered performer built to smooth pounding waves down to size. Notoriously popular as a fishing machine, she's also ideal for weekend cruising. There's a queen-sized walk-around berth forward, real oak throughout the interior, and a list of accoutrements that includes a washer and dryer set, a central vacuum system, a microwave oven, and much more.
This clean and well-maintained Bertram has a two stateroom, galley down layout. Her master stateroom is forward with a private entrance head. The port side guest stateroom has a double bunk and private entrance head. She is equipped with all of the amenities of home including a washer and dryer. Her interior is light oak with tan carpeting and coverings.
Galley down with large custom pantry, convection microwave, disposal, over under refrigerator/freezer, water heater, pressure water system.
The electronics are dated and have not been tested. The owner believes most are fully operational.
This boat shows more modern than her age and has been well taken care of by her current owner since 1993. His kids are grown and while this boat has enjoyed many summers cruising the Bahamas, she now just gets started once a week at the dock, washed every two weeks, but doest get to stretch her legs very often. The forward windows have a small leak that the owner hasn't repaired because the new owner might want to glass in the front windshield, and this was taken into account when pricing the boat. Her engines were rebuilt by one of the top Detroit guys in Miami about 300 hours ago, and the owner has full documentation of the rebuild.
