It is likely to be listed by most surveyors but is not structural or an integral working part of the vessel and is not to be used to further negotiate the price down after survey. We strongly suggest that for your own personal safety that when purchasing a yacht you provide new safety equipment rather than relying on second hand gear.)

Qualeena was bought by present owner in 2003 in Portsmouth where she had arrived from Hong Kong with previous UK owners. The boat needed a refit but I had been looking for an exceptionally strong and sea kindly fast ocean cruiser for some time and underneath mostly cosmetic items the boat was found to be structurally sound . A complete refit was carried out over a long period ashore 2003-2007 when "everything" was replaced/completely overhauled including:
mast/rig/sails/engine/wiring/plumbing/refrigeration/windows/hatches etc etc. Boat has superb underwater profile / lines - a credit to her builder/designer.
After launching in 2007 the boat was sailed to the Canaries where she stayed for 3 years , mostly sailing around the islands singlehanded, after which she was sailed back to Portugal (singlehanded)and stored ashore at Nazare for 3 years .Due to my employment and other things at that time I was unable to commence my ocean/world cruising which the yacht had been fitted out to do just that. Then in 2015 I became a resident in Thailand yet still considered sailing the boat to Thailand however the logistics, import taxes etc have now precluded that so sadly I need to part with Qualeena. There a huge amount of history / manuals/documents with the boat including professionally made electrical wiring diagrams .
Having been a professional mariner (Master) at sea for 40 years and a qualified yachtmaster, I can certainly vouch for the seaworthiness of Qualeena and she clocked 14 kts on the GPS/log downwind in a Biscay gale and behaves superbly when hove to/slow reaching to windward in bad weather ! She now awaits a new owner who will appreciate the condition and work carried out to take them to far away places in comfort and safety.
Whiting Yachts sadly no longer exist as Paul Whiting (a renowned NZ yacht designer and builder) was lost with all crew on their way back from taking part in Sydney/Hobart yacht race (not in a Whiting yacht) The Whiting 45 was originally called a "reactor" 45 and designed as fast offshore cruising boat . Penny Whiting , his sister still runs a sailing school in Auckland.
Listed below are the documents/or copies of what we have seen on listing this yacht.
Certificate of British Registry - Part 1 - Full title Registry
Bill of Sale to current owner - 2003
Directive Exemption Certificate - RCD Declaration Aug 2001
Lloyds Register British Tonnage Survey Certificate - 1999
VAT Status Not clear. Purchased in the UK in 2003 (through Ancasta Brokers) on the basis of being tax paid having been brought back into the EU by the previous British owners from Hong Kong, possibly under 'Returned Goods Relief'. Unfortunately no evidence can be found regarding approaching HMRC Customs in Southampton all those years ago. HMRC no longer have records, neither do Ancasta. Previous owner confirms he signed forms with HMRC on entry/return to the UK but no longer has any evidence of this.
