VESSEL WALKTHROUGH: (2 Cabin / 1 Head)

Starting forward we find a fantastic head unit that is tremendously well ventilated by way of a very large overhead hatch. To port is a long vanity unit with the hand basin aft, opposite and to starboard is another vanity surface, each of these area has plentiful eye level cabinets as well as an under shelf cabinet, to provide more than ample storage. Forward in the head unit is the aft facing head, above it is another storage cabinet which also provides access to the anchor locker forward.

Moving aft brings us to the master cabin with a double Pullman berth to port, opposite and to starboard are hanging closets, shelved closets and drawers, below the berth are more drawers to once again provide more than enough storage for long distance cruising or live aboard requirements.

Moving aft again brings us to the truly beautiful salon. To port and outboard is an L-shaped settee with additional cupboards outboard of the settee. Aft in this area is the dining table that has a leaf the folds out to easily seat six people comfortably. Opposite and to starboard is a full length settee, again with cupboards outboard. Below the dining table area is where the new Yanmar engine is located, this area having been designed to give good engine access on all sides by way of easily removable access panels.

Most aft in the salon and to port is the U-shaped galley, tastefully surfaced in a sea green Corian and the perfect shape to allow easy cooking at sea. This area has abundant storage and work surfaces everywhere. Forward are the twin stainless steel sinks, outboard is the stove and most aft a very large top and side opening refrigerator that also contains a small freezer box.

Opposite and to starboard is an excellent outboard facing nav station, which is also designed to be easily used at sea, with a full sized chart table, swing out pedestal seat, breaker panel and some electronics. Most aft and to starboard is the second sleeping cabin, offering a large changing area, large hanging closet and shelf closet and a double berth.

The whole of the interior is finished in beautiful solid teaks and laminates, each hand crafted and hand finished to an exquisite standard. The interior is very spacious, due to her design carrying her beam well aft, and tremendously well ventilated due to two very large overhead hatches, some smaller hatches and plenty of beautiful bronze port lights. The fit and finish of the interior really is a joy to behold.

The Passport 40 hardly needs an introduction to most North American blue water cruising sailors. Designed by Bob Perry and built to withstand all that blue water sailing can involve, she is truly a passage maker. The fit and finish of the beautiful hand crafted teak interior really is a joy to behold and the storage that she provides should satisfy even the most demanding long term sailor.

Aurora has, in recent times, been lavished with all kinds of valuable upgrades to offer a boat that is really ready to go cruising again, she includes a new Yanmar with only 400 hours, a custom Targa arch with davits, solar and wind generator, so that she is truly an off the grid boat. More subtle upgrades include replacement of the pulpit, the stem head/bow roller fitting, some chain plates, removal of the original teak deck and Awlgrip of the deck, cabin top and hull. Her interior shows cleanly with little to do for the perfectionist and even less to do for the pragmatist.
This vessel survived hurricane Irma on a mooring in a protected harbor and received very minor damage to the starboard caprail and a small impact above the waterline on her starboard side. She also had some spray and a small amount of water below but her interior was washed was cleaned and her mechanicals gone over shortly after the storm. She is a miracle boat actually in that her rig stayed up and she was motored to the dock after the hurricane's passage.
Since the storm the owners were down on the boat and had a complete rigging inspection done. The running rigging was replaced and the standing rig was inspected and pronounced sound.
This boat has only been sailed locally for the past decade and so she does lack some significant electronics typically found on boats of her type, however she has been keenly priced to take account of this, which allows her next owner to choose the electronics he would really wish to have. Those looking for a serious cruising boat that offers a beautiful interior with the vast majority of meaningful upgrades already implemented, all at a very fair price, should seriously consider this great offering!
