Odyssey is a one-owner Peterson 34 owned by Frank & Annette D., always sailed off the Chicago lakefront and on the fresh waters of lake Michigan. Her most outstanding features are as follows; in 2007 her decks, by that time in quite worn condition, were stripped, prepped and painted, both non-skid and smooth, and topsides/transom as well - all in sprayed Awlgrip by master painter Matt M. at Crowley's Yacht Yard in Chicago.
Other recent upgrades include all new in 2014 varnished teak and holly faced marine plywood cabin sole. And all new portlights in 2016.
Odyssey was actively raced from 1980 when she was new til around 2000 after which time she has been generally day-sailed; she won 1st place Boat of the Year in section in 1986. She is equipped with tiller steering and her Yanmar diesel engine (apprx 1,850 hrs) is original as are her winches and deck hardware; good engine access. The Yanmar is owner maintained and this listing broker reports she performed nicely in fwd, neutral and reverse in a short in-harbor outing in mid-July 2017.
Mast and rigging also in very good condition; sails are not new but serviceable for daysailing and cruising. Odyssey is typically stored outside at Crowleys Yacht yard in Chicago, mast up, shrink-wrapped. All interior teak and cabin cushions are in very good condition; Odyssey has no offensive “boat smells.” Berths for seven including deep/ wide starboard side quarterberth with huge nav table at the head; twin settees and pilots amidships, port side enclosed head, stbd big wide hanging locker and vee berth forward. Large ice box, space for stove/oven, sink with foot-pump for fw, no dining table.
