40' Marine Trader Double Cabin Trawler 1978.
Marine Traders are known for their quality built trawlers. They are reliable and safe. They became very popular during the fuel crisis of the late 1970's. TInside teak-on-teak interior is arranged in a traditional double cabin configuration with accommodation for six. Engine room access is very good, and storage is excellent.
This single engine 1978 Marine Trader has, with it's previous owners, cruised from Daytona Florida, through the ICW, crossed the Golf to Bahamas and from there to the greater Antilles. It cruised the windward and leeward islands for two years. She was then sold to a local businessman who was going to use it for a liveaboard office. She was hauled and awlgripped... rebuilt motor installed new sea cocks and then his plans changed. She stayed on the hard for a number of years. She was then bought by an Englishman who finished her off to liveaboard standards and launcehd her and used her as his Island home for four years.
She was on the hard during Irma and sustained minor cosmetic damage.
He then bottom painted her, relaunched her and lived aboard.
He is going back the the EU to chef on a megayacht for the Summer season and has decided to sell her on.

Described from bow to stern: Chain locker forward followed by a cabin with V-berth, with shelves and storage underneath, head, hanging locker that accesses the back of the lower station console. Aft up a set of steps is the salon with the helm station forward to starboard with sliding entrance door. Station has full steering and engine control with electronics. Aft of the station is the galley with wood cabinets and Formica counter tops, double S/S sinks, propane stove, AC/DC refrigerator/freezer. To port is the dinette that converts to a berth, post side sliding entrance door. Aft down a set of steps is the master cabin with full berth. A desk, hanging lockers, drawers and head with tub and shower. A sliding hatch leads to the aft deck.
The deck hardware is sturdy, but the finish work is not impressive. Some paint work has been done along with waterproofing and improving some of the windows. The boat has spacious deck areas, with many possible "outdoor" living areas: aft, mid level and bow, plus large open canvas bimini covered flybridge. Aft under deck storage. Lots of ropes, fenders, power cord, water hoses etc. Mounted storage box on flybridge, and storage space under flybridge console. Partially equipped flybridge helm. LPG installation is mounted in the flybridge under the console.
