Designed by John Alden and built by world renowned Salthouse Brothers ship yard. She has a 5 layer cold molded Kauri hull, enclosed in 3 layers of 10oz fiberglass.
Custom built for her first and only owner until 2015, she was purpose built to withstand a hurricane, pitch-pull and anything else the ocean could throw at her. The aft bulkhead from the deck house to the cockpit is double reinforced and is designed to take the heaviest of hits.
The deck house has 3/4' of additional fiberglass enveloping it, from under one deck, over the top, to under the deck on the opposite side.
She was built sturdy enough to keep her original family of 5 safe in the worst of conditions. You just don't see this type of construction anymore.
This Staysail Ketch boasts two furled headsails, an incredible mainsail and a mizzen. Step into the cockpit and you will instantly notice the space and ease of setup for serious sailing. All sail plans have working lines and gear and she is set up with extra mast-gate stations for crew support during storm operation. Ratlines run halfway up the mast and came in handy for visibility during navigation of the shallow coral reefs and bays in Fiji, Indonesia, the Galapagos and the Caribbean.
400 Gallon Fuel Tank with a 5 Gallon gravity fed Day Tank.
