This De Groot 54, called Galanthus, is a really comfortable cruising motoryacht with cruising speed of around 7-8 knots , she will push on a bit more if asked but she is designed as a comfortable and capable displacement craft. Bought by her current Owner in 2004 (one of our colleagues did the sea trials down in Lagos Portugal) she has been extensively re-fitted, overhauled and serviced.
Originally constructed in 1972 by De Groot with interior fit out by Hofton and Sons of Notts, she has a solid and reliable steel structure, we have a number of owner supplied recent photographs of her but we hope to produce a full set of interior photos and videos as soon as we are able to access the craft which is currently near Barcelona. Like so many, we are awaiting travel restrictions to lift for us to visit the yacht in person and take a video of her.
We believe that she would make a great blue water cruiser or would be equally at home as a floating home for example on the River Thames. We see the boat as a great value for money opportunity for someone!
